Hi there, fellow imperialists (?). I'm participating in a league using the Invincible Army and the first mission we are playing is Acquisition. This is my first draft at a list (is not Limited Insertion or anything, mind you, I just ended up with 10 units that's all):

Since deployments are so deep, I opted to cut out my beloved Haidao MSV2 sniper, which made room for two HMGs with TA. Mowang is going to be my DT; Rui Shi is the visor of choice; Daoying HD Lt2 provides buffs to the bot, assisted landing for the Liu Xing and/or orders for the NCO. Mechanic is there for button pushing duty (although the Lt. could do it just fine, tanking into account she could deploy one short-skill-distance away from the antenna) and fixing the bot.

The plan is to go for second turn if I get the chance, leaving the Mowang and one HMG on ARO duty (if needed) to hold the advance of the enemy and taking objectives last turn. If I'm forced to go first, the Liu Xing looks for opening on the enemy DZ and the HMGs/Rui Shi take out opposing AROs for the Mowang to advance and just stay there in SF.

    Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

So what happens when you wind up going second, and your opponent looks at your total lack of ARO presence and decides to run over to your side of the board and stick his boots into you?

There also doesn't seem to be any reason why you can't improve the link team by sticking a Haidao KHD into it given that it costs the exact same amount of points as a shotgun Zuyong. How are you planning to activate antennas with no specialists? If you ignore the antennas you straight up surrender 4 objective points to the opponent. What's the plan there?

For each communicating antenna it’s 1pt. (2pts) and you need specialists. Engineers and Hackers get a bonus.
Controlling the tech coffin is 3pts. but can be controlled by anyone in base contact. But with Data Tracker +2pts. Then +1 for Xenotech.
    Secret objective 1pt.

It says the Xenotech needs to place its scanner but not where. I’m assuming outside deployment That’s +1 or -1!

I agree with @Triumph that you need to replace the Zuyong BSG with Haidao KHD BSG or Engineer if you can find points.

I’d also replace the Liu Xing with Zencha FO if possible. But if not, then make sure to use him to target enemy specialists, Lt., or Data Tracker.

The Mowang is a good choice both for the Data Tracker as well as controlling the Xenotech.

Always more than 4" outside of deployment. You're going to need to spend at least two skills to Move the Xenotech to get the placement to stick.

Some missions are a little different I think. One of them says specifically the saturation zone. (not this mission)

If you want to get the Xenotech to the Tech coffin for that extra 1pt. that's not going to be too much of a problem. Hell, you can do it after getting into contact with the Tech Coffin.

All of them have this passage, though:

After declaring this Skill the player will make a measurement.
If the Xenotech is within 4” of its Deployment Zone, both
troops will be considered to have declared an Idle.

And remember that the Xenotech doesn't have to be synched to be controlling the Tech-Coffin, it's sufficient that it's touching it.

The Zuyong was a Haidao KHD, or at least I thought I put it in. Weird. Anyway, thanks for the comments! I decided against the Liu Xing in favor of a Hulang with LFT because it can start the game right next to an antenna and is really close to the enemy DZ if I have to go first.
The Haidao morphed into an engineer because I value it more with all my HIs running arround (and the Rui Shi).

Mowang is pretty much a really solid DT and Xeno-carrier. Thing is I really wanna drop the xenotech once I put the scanner down, so I can go into SF.

Plan is: if I get second turn, put the HMGs looking down a lane or two to make the opponents advance harder, maybe the Mowang too. Also, keep the Hulang covering an objective with the LFT (maybe). If I have go first, I'll try to take out AROs with HMGs/buffed up Rui Shi and then I move the Hulang to the enemy DZ to flame/hack/shoot some "bad" dudes.
