I would be surprised if it was the Helot, as nothing matches the concept design. A couple of units have a cylinder now, and they are all pretty unique.

The thing is, you're not "just" looking at the cylinder.
Look at the space between the canister's webbing and the belt. There's what appears to be part of the retracted fins there.

@kanluwen I think the sniper shot matches the Helot art. It would also make sense for the Helots to be released during or shortly after Varnua drops.
@TenNoBushi Thank you for posting the pic. She does look better than the current Odal models especially the current Spitfire.

Yeah, I'm gonna agree with Kanluwen here. The alien texture is pretty distinct.

Do not worry, I was looking at the rest of the concept as well, which is why I said I would be surprised if it was the Helot because nothing matches the concept.

The armored concept has flexible armor with horizontal lines along the lower back and obliques, the sniper shot has horizontal. The armored concept has a hard, carapace-like armor protecting the upper torso and back, the sniper shot seems to be wearing a more flexible jacket, (also notice the boarder lip on the jacket which is also not in the armor concept.) The concept of the belt does not have the numerous loops which are present in the sniper shot. The fin in the concept is prominent, even in the armored concept, in the sniper shot the suspected fin is so small it could be pretty much anything else, (also notice how it would be tucked under the belt, which is also a departure from the concept.) Lastly, the cylinder in the concept does not match the cylinder in the sniper shot.

So, while it is possible this is the Helot, I would be surprised because it is a massive departure from the concept we have been shown, and CB generally follows their concept designs pretty truthfully in their sculpting.

I'm still rooting for the sniper shot to be a Helot in the end.

If you look at the dossier, you'll notice the tail has a top fin that connects to his lower back.

If you were looking at the concept, you'd have noticed that there's two effectively 'states' for the rear fin. There's one state with the rear fins being 'at rest' with nothing protruding. Then there's the state where the fin is prominent like some breeds of lizards/fish have when they're 'alarmed'.

The sniper shot looks to have the 'at rest' fins.
The thing to remember is we've had discussions for years with regards to Helots and how they can get 'enraged'. It would make sense that they're a two model set for the profile if that ends up being the case, one model for the 'enraged' status and one model for the 'at rest'.

And if you look at the sniper shot, there's what appears to be the 'retracted' version there.

Look, is it a 1:1 match to the dossier? No. But it doesn't match anything we've seen renders of nor is it a perfect match to anything else that I personally have seen dossiers of.

eh, I hope its a helot just as much as the next guy, but even the body armor isn't really spot on. even the straps on the canister are different.

It could be a helot, it could be something else.

Whoa, could it be that Helots might get some sort of transmutation? that would be super cool

People shouldn´t stick to hard to the Dossier, I mean, look at the Frontovik Feet/Shin, see the difference?

Fair enough, though the rest of the model follows the dossier closely, (the only other exception is that the backpack design is different, and the sculpt's version follows the Ariadna standard packpack design), even down to all the kit he is carrying.
