Hi, I am a quite new player but I decided to go balls deep into this and checked in for a tournament in July.
    Here are the tournament Specs:
    • Limited Insertion, No Spec Ops.
    • Missions are Acquisition, Supplies and Power Pack
I only have one demand to my list: I want to play Geckos.

I played some test games and every time the Geckos died before my first turn. The first one was a Mc Murrough from Caledonians and in the second match it was an Impersonator. I decided to bring Koalas to at least be somewhat save against Impersonators.

So I adapted to got this list:

    [IMG] Limited Insertion Geckos
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]9 [IMG]1 [IMG]1
[IMG] DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
    [IMG] ZONDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
[IMG] INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
[IMG] WILDCAT Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (2 | 20)
[IMG] WILDCAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19)
    [IMG] WILDCAT Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24)
[IMG] WILDCAT Boarding Shotgun, Stun Grenades, Deployable Repeater / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17)
[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
    [IMG] GECKO 2 Combi Rifles, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / . (0 | 53)
[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
    [IMG] GECKO Mk12, Chain-colt, Blitzen / . (0.5 | 54)
[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
[IMG] McMURROUGH 2 Chain Rifles, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Templar CCW (AP + DA). (0 | 31)

    6 SWC | 299 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

It lacks smoke which only Mc Murrough supplies. And he is not in the list to put smoke down for the intruder.

I have no idea if this is working or how to build a limited list at all. Alguacil links take too many places for a limited insertion list. It feels like I need to play a link team. Otherwise I could just have played vanilla Nomads, which is no option to me.

Usually I would want at least 1 bandit in my list, 1 hellcat, 2 Jaguars but I cannot fit it into a 10 man list. Help please.

My first list looked like this:

    [IMG] Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]9 [IMG]1
[IMG] ALGUACIL Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 10)
[IMG] INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
    [IMG] INTRUDER (X-Visor) MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 43)
[IMG] HELLCAT Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21)
    [IMG] GECKO Mk12, Chain-colt, Blitzen / . (0.5 | 54)
[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
    [IMG] GECKO Mk12, Chain-colt, Blitzen / . (0.5 | 54)
[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
[IMG] JAGUAR Light Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW. (0 | 13)
[IMG] JAGUAR Light Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW. (0 | 13)
[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
[IMG] BANDIT Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Light Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 28)

    6 SWC | 300 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

The super obvious Lt choice is kind of a no go and I don't really utilize a link team (Okay, Geckos but they don't really count)

Another possibility would be something like this:

    [IMG] Limited Insertion, Iguana Gecko
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]9 [IMG]1
[IMG] BANDIT Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Light Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 25)
[IMG] INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
    [IMG] IGUANA HMG, Heavy Flamethrower / . (2 | 71)
[IMG] [IMG] IGUANA OPERATOR HMG / Pistol, Knife. ()
    [IMG] GECKO 2 Combi Rifles, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / . (0 | 53)
[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
[IMG] DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
    [IMG] ZONDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
    [IMG] ZONDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
[IMG] INTRUDER Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 35)
[IMG] JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
[IMG] JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
[IMG] ALGUACIL (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12)

    4 SWC | 300 Points

    Or this:

    [IMG] Limited Insertion, Low SWC
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]8 [IMG]2 [IMG]1
[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
[IMG] BANDIT Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Light Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 25)
[IMG] JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
[IMG] JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
[IMG] INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
[IMG] INTRUDER Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 35)
[IMG] McMURROUGH 2 Chain Rifles, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Templar CCW (AP + DA). (0 | 31)

[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
    [IMG] GECKO Mk12, Chain-colt, Blitzen / . (0.5 | 54)
[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
[IMG] DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
    [IMG] ZONDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)

    3 SWC | 300 Points

But I am veeery unsure because I don't really make use of a sectorial army.

If you're already bringing Jags for your intruders it's worth grabbing Massacre. The ecplise grenades let you sneak units through key firelanes and the breaker combi ruins Ariadna.

Supplies will be tricky with only 3 specialists (one of which is gecko operator), but something like this will stand up well to annihilation

Massacre link for hunting/utility, Brigada link for defense/hacking (don't forget moran has a repeater), Gecko to tank, and Intruder to murder. deploy the Moran in full cover and keep him alive, you need that FO to stay up. Remember that he has a repeater the MB hacker could use.

I am not sure about having no smoke. And would the wildcats be defensively or offensively used?

Annihilation is not played in this tournament. The other problems that I see:
    1. There are only 9 orders
    2. I most likely want to have a Jaguar on each side. But I have no idea of how it could turn out in this list with Massacre

You typically only need one smoke grenade to sometimes help the Intruder on turn 1 and McMurrough is enough for that.

For me Wildcats are mainly defensive but on typically turn 3 you can use the Spitfire to escort specialists.

In that setup you don't have any specialists and I'm not sure if you would need the Spitfire but it could still help late game.

The specialists are Daktari, Moran Masaai and the Geckos. Or what did you mean with Specialists? I could go with one assault hacker wildcat instead of the spitfire. not sure about that

    I misread acquisition as annihilation.

So you've got 3 objective based missions, one of which favors hackers/engineers, an no murder based missions. I'd definitely try to work in a second FO Moran or pick up an FO/AHD Bandit. You'll want more specialists period, and infiltrating specialists in particular excel at these missions.

If you're all in on smoke and geckos something like this would work.

    [IMG] Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]10
[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)

    [IMG] GECKO 2 Combi Rifles, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / . (0 | 53)
[IMG] [IMG] GECKO PILOT 2 Assault Pistols, Knife. ()
[IMG] WILDCAT Engineer Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23)
[IMG] WILDCAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19)

This gives you 5 specialists including the pilots but they should really stay in the TAGs unless you need a hail mary. Engineers in link provide redundant specialists in the link and will keep your geckos active. You'd have very little counter to enemy TAGs here.

But personally I'd run something more like this:
    [IMG] Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]8 [IMG]2
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA HMG / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 42)

[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 43)
    [IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA Combi Rifle + 1 TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 37)
[IMG] MOBILE BRIGADA MULTI Rifle + Light Flamethrower / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 39)
[IMG] BANDIT Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Light Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 28)
[IMG] BANDIT (Forward Observer) Light Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 23)
[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)

Pain train is really strong on defense or offense and carries a specialist with them. Morans provide killer area denial in suppressive fire with CK's and a repeater for your hackers. Especially in limited insertion, your opponents will have tags and HI for you to shut down, while Bandits can glue them down and Multi rifle brigada can shoot AP. 2 hackers with midfield repeaters give you strong defense there. 4 infiltrating specialists allow you to push the buttons asap or guard them for late game grabbing.

I meant specialists in the Wildcat link, with a Spitfire Fireteam Leader you can use that to engage enemies while also moving the specialists.

An AHD would give you a SS2 AHD (ignores stealth) for use through your Moran's repeater. But losing the Spitfire could make you feel undergunned late game. Can't have everything.

You can grab Lupe (instead of McMurder) if you want to flesh out the Wildcat link. But I agree, you'd be better off dropping the Spitfire for the AHD. Late game a B4 BS13 Combi is an ok gun if the primary objective is just moving up field.

@Civilised Barbarian this list does your first one, just better:

But I'd run AHD over Spitfire + No 2 in LI. Lots of targets for a AHD.

No McMurrough, Bandit or AD prevents a serious Alpha strike but you don't need that tactic available.

Okay, I understand where this is going but I still have worries about the obvious Lt choice. How can I counter Impersonation Markers?
Or in other words: When the Lt is so obvious, how do I prevent him from being taken in the first turn by an impersonation marker (like Hussein Al-Djabel)? It feels like that unit always gets one hit and if he can identify the Lt, he could just snack him away.

Deploy him such that they need to fight through your other troops to get to him. Linked Wildcats will reliably punk most Impersonation attacks. Mcmurder is also great at blocking attack options.

Well it's not 100% obvious with any Intruder on the board but they might guess. Having two Wildcat profiles that could be Lt. helps. They basically need to CC, anything else is a bad move. You mostly need to position so that your DZ is covered so that they have a hard time finding a position to get a good smoke, especially using an Intruder (that can see through the smoke) watching their backs.

Decisions are hard here. I can either take Mc Murrough or take a fifth Wildcat. I tend towards the doggo
When I assume that My HMG Intruder, 2 Geckos and Moran are set, there is little space to put others in.
    What are your opinions?
    Could look like this:

It looks fine, although the 2x Combis are more powerful than the MK12 against most targets below a TAG if you can get in range. It also gives you +3 BS shots against targets at point blank. I would probably rather have it than a second MK12 even if it means leftover SWC and points.

Although the +2 damage on suppressive fire makes the MK12 really good at that.

I just like the 16-24 inch bonus. That is a range in which I fight very often. And with Ironclad rules the MK12 gets a whooping 16 dmg per shot. On the other hand, the additional burst roll is nice. And I mostly prefer the Panzerfaust over Blitzen. In that regard I can be flexible. I will have to test this list and change them up.

Thanks a lot to all kind helpers.

Part of the reason of having a Duo is the weapon choice. I usually use the MK12 to escort the Combis where the extended range is needed, letting any lucky shots or crits drain the MK12's STR.
Then once they are advanced the Combis are usually in range and I'm coming around Total Cover a lot so getting the closer rangeband is useful.

I usually swap to the Combis to discover/shoot and use the chain colt to Initiative Fire on Camo markers to balance out the Mimetism with the BS/B boost.

Once they're advanced I cover the MK12 to the front and Combis on the rear and put both in Suppressive (as well as some DZ guys with the Combined Order). I have reDuo'd them on the next turn before but I usually leave them unlinked.

I really like this list. I would modify it just a bit though: In limited Insertion more than one Irregular is pretty painful, and all Irregulars better be either Impetuous or damn useful to make up for that. IMO the Bandit FO doesn't make the cut in LI where there will be tons of nasty, nasty linkteams.

Since you don't have MSV in there, might as well bump your smoke source up to Eclipse. Massacre could do that well, and bring some defensive CC and E/M capability too. Much as I prefer the breaker combi version, taking a boarding shotty gives you enough points for a Daktari too.

The great repeater and koala coverage, good PainTrain offense, and sizeable number of specialists are still there.

Ends up looking something like the below. Thank you for the inspiration!
