Cube jaeger is nice looking and has a nice profile but he is lacking something to make him original and fluff. Many faction also have acess to better AD option, making him unseen on table (at least on the meta I saw) I had an idea I would like to submit to the community to make the cube jaeger more interesting in a "fluff" way First, give the cube jaeger a cube extractor equipment Cube Extraction Short skill, No Roll. REQUIREMENTS The user must be in base to base contact with an Unconscious friendly trooper equipied with a cube (marked by an Unconscious or Spawn-Embryo Marker). The user must own a cube extractor equipment EFFECTS Cube Extraction is a shor skill that does not require a Roll. By declaring Cube Extraction, the target is killed automatically, going from Unconscious to Dead state without the possibility of an ARM or BTS Roll. And a new classified objective : Cube Hunting OBJECTIVE When in game, the player can replace one of his Classified Objectives with Cube Hunting. This is an optional Classified Objective all players can choose to replace one of the Classified Objectives they drew from the Classified Deck. The Cube Hunting optional Classified Objective is accomplished when at any moment of the game the player Perform the Cube Extraction skill. The Cube Hunting optional Classified Objective provides the same number of Objective Points the scenario provides for each normal Classified Objective accomplished.
TBH, release that profile onto sectorials and you'll see them played - that's where you'll find a shortage of quality AD troops. As for my own lack of fielding them, I've actually opted out a few times simply because they are specialists - otherwise they would be very relevant to use in Firefight. One of few models where I think the specialist status is an active hindrance. As for the idea itself, I think it's way too gimmicky, both in terms of the potential lack of targets against some and target over-saturation in others as well as being only available for the Cube Jäger.
He's the cheapest AD specialist for PanO and Yu Jing by a good margin, that makes him worthwhile. In all honesty I don't really mind if ITS prizes usable by all vanilla factions are a little whelming. As they're only available by winning a tournament (or buying a relatively expensive ITS pack) for the first year of their existence I'd rather they weren't super optimised must-haves. On the other hand, a Medjector would be cool.
meh. you are replacing Coup de Grace (base contact - no roll) by a CubeJager exclusive Coup De Grace variant, that work on relatively easy to reach friendly model instead of enemy ones in enemy territory. Plus you can already casevac friendly KO troops, so really easy to achieve eve if your Cube Jager lands on the wrong side. And then you add in that you can swap any classified for that Coup De Grace. Almost. more like you draw two and always auto-draw this one too, and pick 1 of these 3.
I think he's playable in Ikari because your only other specialists with deployment skills are your 1 Ninja and 2 Bashis (who only have parachutist.) But yeah, Cube Jager is not so good, cool loadout on a bad chassis
Another reason you don't see the very often might be that the loser edition model isn't out for another couple of months.
You guys dont realise how efficient he is do you. The thing legitimately needs no change at all. That pricepoint for a profile with those skills is a bargain. And complaining about his irreg....you realise thats basically a free discount with no drawbacks yeah
Honestly, the Cube Jager seems pretty fine to me as is. ''Cheap'' AD:Infiltration dude that can either bring an SMG and an E/Mitter for busting TAGs/HIs/REMs in the backfield, or bring a boarding shotgun for the purpose of, well... being an AD:Infiltration unit deploying in the backfield with a boarding shotgun. Stealth helps with that too. Only real ''issues'' I can conceive of for the Cube Jager is that 0.5 SWC cost, which depending on a persons perspective either means nothing or ''That's a hacker/minelayer I could've taken instead.'', and the monofilament on them feels rather... not useful ( But ''fluffy'', since, y'know... if you can't drag back the corpse, drag back the head. ). That being said, I'm all up for the idea of them having a medjector. Would be cool.
Jaegars aren't really that bad. IMO dropping the .5 SWC and maybe adding him to a few sectorial would be fantastic.
