Basing on : https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/placing-a-smoke-template.34718/ How does this resolution work with speculetive template ? I've always played it that the attacker could "wiggle" the template as much as he wanted just that the initial target is touched.
Because of the lack of clear direction, after target point/model has been selected you can wriggle it around and select optimal placement as long as your wriggling keeps the target in its effect - just like with teardrop DTWs.
Unlike smoke, speculative fire does not have you pick a target point on the board. The target is still an enemy model; you just aren’t required to center the template on them.
Yup. The rules explicitly allow you to SpecFire a grenade on a model that is close enough to catch a second in the blast, but only if the blast isn't centered on the first model. I have used that to great effect a couple times, clearing out models hiding behind cover.
