How do you iguana ?

Maybe it's the 0 SWC practical Spitfire, the weapon for every range out to 32, the fact that if I can't find it useful it can be a large S no go zone in my DZ until I need a specialist, or maybe that I can move-move in front of a missile, fail all 3 ARM, and still have a final wind to shoot the last guy or take the last objective.

They are an automatic momentum giver that raise the bar for your opponent to win; their ARO to stop your last turn needs to do 3 or 4 wounds; they need to kill it to get rid of your last specialist; they need to get through all 3 wounds to stop you from controlling. Geckos give you the opportunity to be losing an entire game, but just not enough to actually stop you from winning at the end.

However Brigada, and I say this with no hint of sarcasm, have Courage. Also HMG option... if Geckos had an HMG... you guys have no idea. If you want to try play testing that it would be insane.

 

Yeah... Geckos not getting Courage when literally every Nomad HI other than Grrls gets it is odd. But perfectly reasonable from a gameplay POV.

 

I never realised Manned TAGs didn't have courage. I started the game with PanO so I read this post and thought I'd been cheating, but I just checked and the 3 I use (O-Yoroi, Scarface, Annie) all have courage or MA! Lucky break!

 

I find one tactic particularly helpful when fielding the Iguana and going second. I field it in cover as an ARO piece with another ARO piece nearby (HMG bot, Intruder) just in case of massed fire.

Somehow I've noticed that when people start their turn and see a TAG it's like a magnet for them. They must kill it, disable it or whatever. ARM 9 is respectable in cover, BS is decent so it usually takes a lot or orders to destroy it and in that case I don't lose almost nothing - the Operator catapults to safety. It can really damage the first turn of the opponent. And if he ignores her, she might control a piece of the battlefield, or get a shot in. I works really well when the opponent relies on B2 snipers.

It would be a massive buff though.

 

I prefer to think of them as having a 'sound tactical appreciation'. ;)

Im a big fan of geckos. Haven't tried iggy yet but i feel like he would be less fun than szally to me

 

If you've meant this situation

then your Lt is OUT of enemy hacking zone until Iggy possessed.

 

This guy knows what he's here for.
