Riot Grrls got a lot more profiles than Haris and Specialist. They gained a missile launcher and tinbot B on the BS. They also gained a point of both CC and BS and got a points discount on some profiles.

But units are never hand adjusted

yeah, but Phoenix has arguably equal or better performance than Shang-Ji or the Morat equivalent.
Some profiles? Didn't they also get the Fury discount on all profiles to pay for a lot of fancy gear? I seem to recall MSV is also new on them.

I think Pheonix is fair, he's also an exception to the typical range bands for Myrms.
Wildcats are as basic as they come.

Not going to argue about Wildcats, but the HRL isn't that much different from the Spitfire that nobody equips their Myrms with. Phoenix is absolutely an asshole, though, criminally difficult to deal with due to the ODD and smoke combo and even more so with the fireteam negating ZVZ malus. Machaon only makes this worse with the Eclipse grenades so they can ignore MSV2 AROs.

Please do consider running the numbers. 300 points and cheaper "tax to form tacos link" being 35+pts means you run out of points pretty fast, unless you want to run everything as "one gun, 3 chain rifles" teams... Yes, they do have flexibility... but it's the same as other factions with links that can include several characters. For example, MO's Hospitaler links with De Fersen and Juana, a Medic, an HMG, and a fifth wheel (granted, more expensive, but...).

It's not Whining about the Phlanax for the sake of it. In Spain there is an old saying, "we all f*ck, or throw the wh*re to the river", which translates as "the same for all, or we are out".

I've been asking for a non-hero thorakite Enomotarchos for months. Even to turn Alke into it (same profile, add another with combi instead of spitfire). Having the Thoras as a Core, with a Haris or two of Myrms, would not be outrageous I think (it's not like the Myrms will have lots of orders in that second group).

Tons of core and haris teams carry specialists. And mixed fireteams do so too. Heck, the Morat suryat + Kornak + Raktorak haris (it's in the PDF, and confirmed official despite not being shown in the Army) is quite a hard, cheap and with a specialist haris!

While I agree that Phoenix at BS16 with ODD may be a little too much (ok, viscerally I think it would be), there are ways to compensate for that, and it's not like he is alone in that department, or wouldn't be for long (one of the Yandun lists has a Hsien in a 5man Fireteam, with smoke at hand... that is the same mods, in a HI platform with B5).

Wildcats are barebones, but like Tomcats very good at what they do. Phoenix was repriced to 40pts (from 35, and they removed the Frenzy) simply because it was on all lists... and he still is. Not because he is crazy good, mind you, but because he carries the only long-range myrm weapon (the other linkable long-range weapons being on Thoras).

Wildcats could use a Tomcat in their link, I think, and that would give live to that box (also somethign I have asked for).

Nah, the difference is the NWI and Machaon. That gives a degree of safety if you fail against an enemy ARO, Mac's will doctor him up hopefully without losing command tokens (both he and the spitfire have the same smoke, Mac's have Eclipse).

Nah, they always had MSV1, but they made out like bandits with the N3 pricing restructure, and then HSN3 removed any weaknesses the link had.

Linked Tomcat is actually something I suggested for that fan-army project someone is doing. Also an MSV1 with Breaker Combi profile and a Spitfire Haris profile.
I think paying for and not using the AD2 would go a long way towards keeping it balanced. Also a linked doctor, along with the other profiles I added, would help them be the boarding team they are designed like instead of a defensive link they fell in to.

    But that's just for fun.

I like tool box mixed links where you have a suite of units all about the same price, they can be cool and thematic and characterful etc.

I usually don't like mixed links that allow brutal efficiency giving you a cheap firebase and a single awesome attack unit to funnel all your bonuses through. Or at least I don't like it when loads of factions can do it, because it's too good to allow it for my tastes. It really makes HI links look stupid, why pay for an extra 4 HI's when you could be using dirt cheap guys to fill out the link instead and have enough points left over for an extra seperate attack piece?

Wildcats are great, but I'd say making Mobile Brigada count as Wildcats could be very cool. Give CJC a really tough, flexible, professional core team.

I counted the Suryats as a Core team. For that reason I didn't count the Haris or Duo. If anyone wants to figure out the title of 'The Fireteam Sectorial' based on other criteria, go right ahead.

I was referring to frenzy and impet fireteams and how they relate to Myrms, like Jaguars and Senior, Gallys with Wallace, Hungries and Oznats. I forgot about Riot Grrls and thought Dats needed Kornak to Core, which is wrong. Out of all of those, only one has a specialist option in the form of an SO for Riot Grrls (which are arguably undercosted after the buff). Myrms, get the frenzy discount, while not suffering from it due to links, have a specialist and have the "downside" of having to bring a good shooter, specialists, etc. Sounds good to me.

You can run unlimited 3 man links in SP if you want, with specialists. With the current way SP links work, you are missing out on the +3 BS and Discover for a 5 man core, but SP has all the tools it needs to circumvent that. Get rid of Enomotarchos for mixed Core and Haris teams and you've got a much more bland sectorial that doesn't reflect one of the better fluff to game play elements that are currently out. And in the end, you'd be having to pay for "taxed" Haris profiles anyway.

Minutemen should be mixed, or duo or haris or just something, they are not in a great spot right now.

That's interesting. So no other Impetuous/frenzy fireteam can include a specialist besides Grrls? I wonder why CB deviated from that. Not having specialists for those troop types actually seems thematic to me. And removing SO from Grrls would weaken them, hopefully to everyone's satisfaction. I play Bak/Nomads as my second faction.

I really hate not being able to take more than one Core fireteam. It would be nice to see impet/frenzy fireteams be an exception. I love my Daturazi core. Using command tokens to swap between them and other fireteams can be painful.

Domaru now has an FO. And Domaru can now link with Karakuri and Keisotsu who have specialists.
Tanko can also link with the above specialist.
    Myrmidons have a hacker.
    Thrasymedes is a Specialist.
    Thorakitai has specialists.
    Machaon is a doctor.
Myrmidon Officer COC is a specialist.
    Sakiel
And probably a lot more. I'm having problems finding Fury links that can't have specialists.

Yeah, I think it came in with Uprising.

MO can get Doctors, Paramedics, and even an AHD in their mixed Frenzy link

Yeah, it's new. The lack of a specialist in Domarumaki links was one of the more interesting drawbacks and concerns when playing JSA. I think the FO Ninja is a good addition, but I think the FO Domaru is lazy.
