This is exactly what I've been finding with OSS. I think I need to drop the Dakini fireteam to get myself to use other options. The problem then is, what's the point in playing OSS and denying myself access to Myrmidons for support?

Another option is to just go whole hog for the Yadu fireteam, which is think is actually potent as door kickers and for holding ground. High stats plus quasi-two wounds means that are actually a pain to dig out and could soak up enough orders before they go down that they are actually worth it. Especially because they are not vulnerable to the things that Dakinis are (templates).

I see the Arjuna's bots as a significant tool for defending the Dakini fireteam that is super vulnerable to warbands with direct template weapons and to hackers. The e/m template is a great tool for slowing those attacks down and sometimes stopping them. Then you end up with a solid gunfighter left if/when the Kiran bots go down.

Is it really that narrow? Theres what 3 Viable Core Links, 2 decent Haris Options. A good AD Troop, 3.5 Good Camo Troops. Cheap Supporting Troops. 3 Different good Heavy Infantry Options (Yadu/Rudras/Asura). A plethora of interesting support models with Holo/HD+/Engineering and Doctor Skills.

Weirdly, yes. Post humans fill some significant gaps, but a general lack of deployables and perimeter weapons coupled with a reliance on high BS gunfighters pushes the playstyle of OSS in a very specific direction. While there is access to mines, dropbears, and mine dispenser, these are few and far between with the cost of the profiles that bring them. This means that the use of any of those tools needs to be specific and intentional. If is very costly to create ablative defense with camo.

Add to the fact that there are a few profiles that are highly efficient for their cost and OSS lists tend to look very similar. When I started playing OSS I put a call out to players to see what kinds of lists they were running and there was very little variation in the core of the lists (post humans, dakini fireteam, apsara, shukra, danavas) which adds up to around 200 points. There definitely are other options, but I think they tend to be less efficient and not do much to expand the tactical options for the army and therefore see less table time.

That sounds like a player problem over an army problem. I've been using a variety of core links and have been polishing a Camo Spam list for use. Its been going pretty well :)

I was looking at this for a LI list recently. I haven't put much time into fine tuning it. Which I think would likely start by dropping one of the Dasyu.

I believe people is trying to make at least 12 order lists, not Limited Insertion ones... Where weirdly enough the Dakini Fireteam is not desirable, because of the Danavas taking the 6th slot and you having the sophotect and the mk1 posthuman as the only options for doctor or engineer (both for the sophotect) forces you to choose between, or to lose another slot, being now 5+1+1+1... so you now have 2 slots to shoe in an Lt, and we know Dart will take another slot.

I would sacrifice 2 camos AVA and go vanilla if no Fireteam is going to be used, frankly.

He would also lose the shukra Lt (only CoC in vanilla), so 1 extra order. Through since he has the SWC, he could take a dasyu Lt and use the order.

Precisely... and changing the shukra for a Myrmidon Officer CoC, for extra specialist that can keep using the Lt order when the dasyu bites it, and for smoking if needed for a Deva Spitfire/Agema Mk12 (or better if there are enough points).

I'm not a fan of the Dasyu LT because I find the Nagas end up doing most of the work. I'd rather have the Shukra to feed orders into them.

If you wanted to do Vanilla though its certainly viable to run camo spam as well but relying on Smoke/MSV as a supporting tool in a Camo heavy list feels very all in since you're trying to avoid fighting MSV/SS2 units in the first place. I'd argue you're probably better off looking at units like the Yadu LT, a Danavas and some other cheap supporting units. Maybe something like this:
