So... Pros to play IA is Hac Tao*, Haidao, Tai Sheng and Daoying. Pros to play Dahshat is Ghulam, smoke+MSV2, Core or Haris Rui Shi, Sforza (inkl Holo1 wildcard), cheaper Engineer, better doctors, better and cheaper TAG, more cheap order REMs (muls and "chaiyi"), Saito, and ABH that can link with Zuyong (or is that Sforza? Get into LOF and find out) Why even play IA? (Yes, I'm not mentioning stuff like Shang-Ji or Al Fasid that I find situational to "merely" good) * I still haven't found a Hac Tao IA list that isn't better rebuilt as vanilla.
They don’t have the tac aware zuyong hmg, just the tac aware haris,but that’s a small pittance. Also they gave the maggie a mine dispenser, so the guija can get an even sadder trombone.
I wouldn't say they can be compared. For starters as there's no Duo for Zuyongs in Dashat it means there's no TacAw HMG profile for them. Only the Haris Tac Aw. And the choice of YuJIng stuff is limited: 4 Zuyong , 1 Zencha , 1 Hulang, 1 Rui Shi and 1 Lu Duan .. With that you can try to replicate, as much, one list that would compare to IA getting the benefits of smoke and such, cheap skirmishers and such. Otherwise you are just building a typical Haqq spam list with just a few ocasional YJ pieces.

It's not so much replicating IA as it is playing with most of their strengths and the ability to not have to take their drawbacks. IA is fairly linear in their construction; nearly everything operates on line of fire without much in the way of CH MODs and few templates. If you do want to replicate IA with Dahshat you can, but you'll have to accept that you're going to get more diverse tools on the units you pick up and an order density that's spread more traditionally. The lack of TacAware HMG is good, and I did miss that, but I don't think this is enough to make IA stand out and overcome the inherent vulnerability to both damage and hacking. I'm looking at Shang-Ji's failure to make Zuyong fireteams diverse and interesting as the primary offender with the price tag on them the biggest culprit.

Surely the Zencha AVA must be a mistake? I mean that totally undermines IA. I'm fine with the Zuyongs but the Zencha breaks the camel's back IMO.
It's not about the AVA. Usually you'll see between 1-2 of Zencha's in IA. It's about the fact that the Zencha operates under (normally) very strict order limitations or competition (in vanilla), whereas this sectorial can have him troll around in a sectorial with 20 plus orders, so he's never leeching orders from main attack pieces.
