Hot Take: Objective rolls in ITS should auto-succeed on an Entire Order

    Cool idea! Damn that would be pretty cinematic too. Maybe next edition there can be a special ability some units can have where they get to shoot you at a -3 while pressing the button at the same time ;)

    Anyway might steal your idea for a custom mission

    Abilities like AIM (to add b or bs) or push button without test on long skill looks good. But it will make spam lists even stronger than their now.

    But +3 WIP +1 dice have to be included in as many missions as possible, since it actually push players to prepare their lists for certain missions\tournament even harder.

    I like the idea of Long Skill for an Unfavoured to get the Favoured bonus, or for a Favoured to just Pass.

    I don't know if many here played Demonworld (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/3219/demonworld), but there was in interresting mechanic in here, that is (if i recall correctly) you could either choose to roll each attack (for example, success on 6- on 1d20), or combine them to gain a joint attack bonus (something like +2 or +3 for each troop choosing to support instead of attacking, so instead of 2 rolls at 6- you would do a single one at 9-). Basically trading potential for security.
    I like the concept, but the autosuccess on a long order would be too much - there would be no point in bringing expensive, dedicaced specialist if you could just use cheap specialists and buy more cheerleaders with the point difference, making for the added cost. So just an added bonus (like +3 or as suggested +3 / +1 dice) seems better. It wouldnt change much for high WIP dedicaced specialist. WIP 14 +3 for having the required speciality +3 for the long order is still an autowin, but it is an autowin because it was the right specialist to begin with. On the opposite, WIP 13 without speciality bonus would be at 13 (short order) /16 (long order), so fair chances of success but can still fail.
    Let's remember that most remote TAG have now a WIP 10 specialist bot. Should it auto win specialist rolls ? I think it would be too much.

    I like it. One simplification for N4 : everytime two models roll dices it's face to face. Would make it much easier to explain and remember.

    No, you don't want that.

    Case in point: Model A throws Smoke about five feet to the left of Model B, but in Model B's line of sight. Model B dodges. A and B are both rolling dice that have nothing to do with each other.

    Related to the case in point: Model A throws smoke at B's feet (or 26mm to the left). Model B dodges. A and B are rolling dice that don't interfere with each other.

    That's part of the reason for that requirement that two models have to affect each other.

    In 2nd edition, about the only justification that you could get for an interaction roll being face-to-face with a BS Attack was in the uncommon situation of a model rolling to close a door that the attacker is shooting through.

    You're welcome to argue about whether "Scenario Interact" vs. Attacks should be face-to-face, on the merit of whether that would improve game play, but "it would make it much easier to explain and remember" doesn't get past dodging against smoke. :)

    I Think this is the best way.

    Actual ITS rules make almost imposible play only one grup list VS high-order List.

    I think that some auto succes is not good. If you are playing WIP 11 Specialist it's because your faction is balanced in that way or that specialist it's really cheap.

    I think that a long order could give you a +3 Bonus to WIP roll that add up with the bonus for the right specialist. This way You can have a nice +6 to your roll and even with a WIP 11 you go to a nice 17.In this manner the value of having different specialist instead of only FO remain.
