Hey guys, still learning the ropes as I main as Nomads, but fell in love with JSA. I seem to struggle with Highly Classified as our specialists aren't top notch. Any list ideas?
I love playing a Samurai oriented lists, but I don't think they are a wise choice in this case.

@Section9 In need of your wisdom great Daimyo ;)

I got some really good advice when I asked about Highly Classified so I'll link that out here:

I ended up losing my game of Highly Classified but it was very close and I felt good about the capability of the list in general. It can theoretically accomplish any of the classifieds in the deck (although Kidnapping is tough) and has good pieces to disrupt the opponent's plan.

Here's a general breakdown of the roles:
The Oniwaban can take out hard targets like TAGs and superheavy infantry or hunt key specialists.
Ninja KHD is primarily for objectives but if you don't draw any relevant classifieds it can put some pressure on opposing specialists as well.
Ryuken can accomplish Sabotage with their D-Charges and just generally act as a super annoying wall for the opponent with their mines and ODD+cover+supp fire. I like to place at least one covering the HVT, depending on terrain. They can also get work done as an active turn shooter.
The Weibing provides a unit with Structure to engineer as well as a relatively fast forward observer.
Yojimbo does what Yojimbo does best; dispense smoke/koalas and be generally annoying for the opponent.
Yuriko adds another good shooter to the core fireteam and a mine for protection, but she can alternatively be solo if it makes engineering classifieds easier to accomplish.
The Tokusetsu doc is pretty bland but I feel like it's a necessary upgrade over a paramedic.
The Yaozao gets assigned to either the Tokusetsu or a solo Yuriko depending on who it would help get classifieds done.
SMR Kempeitai is a competent shooter, especially in a 5-man link, can take out annoying camo troops, and can abuse smoke from Yojimbo.
Keisotsu FO can do FO classifieds and get dragged around by the link team.
Lieutenant is a bit obvious with only one body double but the rest of the list can make it really annoying for the opponent to try to snipe. You could consider a CoC Kempeitai but I felt like the benefits of taking the SMR version outweighed the risk.
HMG Keisotsu gets you a cheap HMG for active turn shooting.
ML Keisotsu provides a cheap, annoying ARO.

The list is lacking in the ability to really smash face, though that's a little less important for this mission. I've really been impressed with the SMR Kempeitai in my games but they lack the resiliency of something like a Domaru Spitfire, so you may want to try to fit one in to the Core link if you want/need more firepower. The Karakuri is also worth considering as a resilient, shooty specialist.

Good list and feedback from @DrDevice there.

Just to back up his points:

I think JSA has two major advantages in Highly Classified: robust Turn 1 defense, and amazing precision piece removal.

One danger in Highly Classified is that your opponent gets the bulk of the objectives done Turn 1, before you can set up a defense. Ryuken-9 minelayers and Crazy Koalas can really help with that, making your opponent work just a bit harder to get that stuff done.

Similarly, if you end up with a Classified pull where one or two enemy Specialists are absolutely critical to getting them done, you can send in the TO guys to go for that key piece removal. An enemy cannot push a button if you disable his hand, etc.

I think those two considerations really from the cornerstone of play, and from there you can just pick up the pieces as needed. I do really like the Domaru FO/Yuriko Oda/Kempetai/Keisotsu link for this. It's a good diverse team, but it can do all the FO, Engineer and D-Charge Classifieds pretty effectively, and you can even throw in a Hacker or Paramedic as well.

Yeah, I don't think that lots of Samurai are the go-to for Highly Classified.

Karakuri, Doc, engineer, Yuriko, probably a Keisotsu Paramedic.

    Overall, I agree with @barakiel 's suggestions.

    Maybe something like this?
