Think they will loose Core option, cause CB don't want Lasiqs with a 5 man link bonus.

The lasiqs may lose core link as previously they could not make a 5 man link (AVA 4), but now with wildcards they could. I guess we will have to wait until the 27th. Even with the update I doubt I would miss the fireteam core, they are still more suited to killing so I would rather take something more toolboxy like Govads or Muyibs as the a core link. However the Harris will be very useful.

I can imagine using both Leila or Yasbir in a lasiq harris. Yasbir could make pretty good bodyguard, especially if you make imaginative use of holoprojector lvl 1.

I've often used my Lasiq as an ARO piece. Its more appealing to me to form a Haris to get a +1 burst bonus on my viral sniper than it is sacrificing my only fireteam core for the same benefit.

A fireteam of Lasiq monkeying about with climbing plus was always a novelty to me, but a Haris option makes me much more willing to try it.

On the screenshot Carlos showed the fireteam core was removed from the lasiq profiles.

I have used Govads a number of times before as a haris attack piece with the hmg, but now I feel like I have a comfortably strong Core.

As for Lasiqs, I think we saw the vanilla profile, as the new ones were astericked.

I like this. In my mind now, "Leila Sharif" is a pseudonym used by different operatives.

Fireteam: Core isn't listed on profiles as it's not a skill.

Bolts didn't have it listed either.

I agree I’m pretty sure we saw the vanilla profiles. I find myself in the camp of losing the core, and I can understand the reasoning. I always wishlisted the full core (like many of us), but since the changes make me feel a lot better about taking a mixed govad core over muyibs I think I like that idea of Lasiqs being relegated to haris duty with out poster child specialist in tow. Especially with the team being so dangerous and pretty cost effective active and reactive

Seeing all of these lists being written it looks like there’s a lot of fun versatility. I’m excited to sit down and workshop new lists while waiting for Ramah to fully drop

But they do have Fireteam: Core listed under “skills” in their sectorials, so we don’t really know unless it was stated yet. This kind of reaction to profile spoilers has happened before, but it’s an interesting point to discuss

Maybe I have a fundamental misunderstanding of Wildcard. Given Lasiqs are AVA4, I thought Wildcard would allow Leila Sharif to join them instead of the fourth Lasiq, but some of the discussion here implies it would be in addition to four Lasiqs.

AVA has no bearing on Fireteam limits.

Core Fireteams can include up to 5 troopers.

A Core link allows one to have up to five members. Wildcard lets Leila join any link. So, for instance, she can be the 5th Ghulam or the 5th Lasiq. AVA is availability of the unit, not a limit to the number of models in a link.

Put another way, Leila isn't taking a Lasiq's AVA slot. She still has her own AVA, in addition to the four Lasiqs.

OK, thanks guys - had a brain fart there. Still, even with 3 Lasiqs, Yasbir, and Leila, I'm not sure that would be enough to dissuade people from the other new attractive things.

Lasiq Core is probably still not the most attractive thing to build around, but there's nothing wrong with having an option. After all, who is to say that Lasiqs with wildcards aren't our take on Loup-Garous (perfectly legit core) or something.

Also think about list versatility. You can form a list around 2 Haris and change one to a core with your wildcards during deployment depending on the mission/table/matchup

Just to clarify, because you cannot have two harris fireteams at the same time... Do you mean one harris and a core of 3 members where each fireteam is paying for a harris profile in it?

Not exactly. Form a list that can be built as two different haris/core combos depending on where you put the wildcard units. You could also do your Haris unit as the Aswira so that you aren't paying for 2 of the skill.

Oh, can you do that? I don't know why I thought it had to be an Asawira harris if you are taking the Asawira profile with the harris skill but I guess you just need one member to have the harris skill, period.

In all previous update videos they've showed the vanilla profiles.

For some stupid reason, some troops do show Fireteam: Core as part of their skills. We would like CB to stop doing that, because Fireteam Core isn't a skill. Or, if they are wanting to reduce the number of times you need to check a different document for Fireteams, CB needs to show Fireteam: Core on EVERY unit that can be in a Core.

    Works for me, too!

It's not a bad comparison, but I like the Lasiq Haris, or even just a solo Lasiq.

    Exactly.

That's how PanO's Patsy Haris works, with Patsy the ORC special Character, a Kamau HMG or HRL, and the VIRD Machinist as a valid haris. Patsy has the Haris rule, but as a wildcard she can join any fireteam. By sticking a Kamau into the list it becomes a Kamau team, and the VIRD Machinist can join a Kamau Haris.

I especially like Yasbir showing Fireteam: Core on its profile in the builder.

If only CB weren't such cowards putting Yasbir's AVA at 1 instead of 5...
