What do you think about new Hasht? Pretty big changes. He is no longer 4-2, but he has 4-4 MOV, he has lower ARM (1 instead of 3) and his Ph is only 11 (he had 12). He also lost Seed Embryo special rule. Instead of it he has shock immunity, breaker pistol and stealth. IMHO this makes him interesting option even in vanilla CA.
So are Raktoraks. I like the changes. Still a beatstick, but with some more flexibility thanks to Stealth. I wonder if Shock Immunity isn't a form of open beta testing. Shas could use more of this skill.
To be frank, everyone should have it. Shock Ammo was a mistake ;-) But I think this is a good change for Hasht.
Just used Hasht in vanilla for a friendly game of Tic Tac Toe... It died quickly to a Szalamandra. That said, I'd run it again, especially now. Shock is fun (shooting a guy dead in front of his Daktari >:) ), but maybe they could split the difference? E.g., dogged and NWI come with shock immunity? I know it cuts down the "pseudo-wound," but it's still distinct from two wounds.
IMO, from vanilla point of view Hasht just evolved from unplayble snail to a very solid choice, now he doesn't have a problem of all the 30ish-40ish 1W+NVI models thanks to shock immunity and can actually move up to objectives effectively, he's no sheskiin in terms of CC/BS/PH, but being whole 17 points cheaper and a specialist AND SHOCK IMMUNE, I feel like he just replaces Sheskiin entierly for now, maybe even for fireteams in shasvastii, and a breaker pistol is just an icing on a cake.
I wouldn't go that far. Sheskiin's stats make her an absolute monster in shootout and CC, and Protheion allows her to bypass 1 W fragility. I'd say that Hasht is safer and cheaper choice for a firebase, while Sheskiin is made for engaging enemy units from up close in the midfield - and SEF can field a nice collection of support for her.
Have a tournament tomorrow where i'm taking vanilla CA. Already updated my lists to include Hasht. He's lost limited camo, sure, but Shock immunity is gonna be the big one - i've lost him a bunch of times to shock weapons.
