That Ghulam NCO with N+Smoke LGL is pretty sweet too.
A Big bummer is, that they havent touched Zhayedan apart from the Haris option and also I had hoped for more Tuareg profiles.
And those Maggy profiles with Mine Dispensers are locked behind 360 Visors:(
And I still cant stand Janissaries...this sectorial would have been the chance to introduce a second Akbar.

The Rafiq FTO options are good and the Ref Fury one is very surprising.
I dont get the point of the Shaytaniya FTO.
Tarik with Lieutanant L2 is nice, especially with the NCOs.
Monstruckers offer a cheap second Engineer option.

All in all I see a lot of interesting stuff to try, but Zhayedan are disappointing.

Fantastic release all round. Ramah has some amazing combinations I can't wait to try out. Well done CB!

Yeah I'm bummed out as well. I really love the design and sculpt of the Zhayedan. It's just that other than the breaker rifle profile, RTF has so much more interesting profiles for the same point range. I don't really see myself using the Haris option either, unless I'm going for some Tarik/Leila/Zhayedan gimmick.

Yeah, we got so much interesting new stuff with Ramah...so Zhayedan shine even less than before. And I am one of the peaople who really liked them. To bad...

Just make a Core Fireteam with 2 Hortlaks, Leila, Tarik and a Namurr. Problem solved, haha.

Honestly this sectorial kinda deals the only gripe I had with the Janissaries in QK: not having a cubed target they can link with AND use Akbar on. Now they have Tarik! Though I wish it was more than one target. A cheaper Akbar doctor for vanilla would have been nice though, yeah.

Who’s spotted the NCO Ghulam with light grenade launcher with smoke ammo!

Glad to have a cheap and flexible source of smoke!

Yeah, I was right there with you hoping for that!

It's very nice. I knew QK was getting the NCO but I was pleasantly surprised to get it in Ramah as well. The smoke makes it a very appealing choice, especially since you can have an MSV2 Khawarij in the same team.

It seems that we are supposed to take Zhayedans for their ability to walk ghazi fields and force all those new zapper carriers into honest F2F rolling. Frankly, I have to question practicality of that.

That sounds like something lifted straight from a jaunty action flick - an insufferable Protagonist with capital "P", two contrasting chicks to go with him ("Lancer" and "Genius" types, rather usual composition) and also "those two guys" to use for variety of narrative/presentational functions.

Speaking of our other Core, it's all kind of weird. But smoke-totting NCO is definitely nice. If you somehow move this team up the field, they will definitely help with showcasing what is it unusual that reserved Nahab can do. Gimmicky though.

Can I say I really enjoy the Monstruckers? Two of them, 3 fanous, and a defensive ghulam Link are pretty strong especially woth all of our offenaive pieces.

It’s nice that they gave NCO to a non typical profile like the hmg. Beyond the smoke, he’s also spec firing grenades on 11s, and if you take Lt 2 Tarik and he doesn’t have something better to do with his Lt orders, that’s two ‘free’ grenade shots a turn.

Btw...take a look at Shasvasti and Sheskiin...Tarik pales in comparison.

They do seem to get a bit more out of their 50ish points than we do.

Well, if nothing else, Tarik Lt.2 in that Core can use his orders to maneuver, including laying down smoke. While it's a bit funny that you have to do that if you want Lt. orders to do something for Lt's own link, it's something.

At least I won't feel THAT bad for Linked Fat2 Spitfire Tarik now, since Shasvastii got something similar)

    So many new shiny things!

I am especially drawn to Khawarij in a Ghulam core. Mk12 + NCO Ghulam + Doc+ +2 Heavy Naffatun is pretty appealing for 87 points. I don't really know how best to support it, but that core will be in a lot of my lists.

Wow, very impressed. To echo what others have said:

    > Wide definition of Ghulam is great; Khawarijs leading teams is very cool (and a missed opportunity for Zhayedans); Khawarij with HRL seems like a good friend of the defensive Ghulam link, whereas Mk12 would be good with offensive; Ghulam NCO seems likely to be everywhere; plus linked fire for the fun of it
    > Monstruckers seem like a good Najjarun alternative, trading WIP for Climbing Plus and interesting weapons
    > Nahab is an interesting beast. Seems like a Fiday-type role where they come in near the enemy, tear stuff up, but hopefully survive as a specialist
    > Namurr with Janissaries is unexpected and even more pain train-y
    > Red Fury Rafiq - we finally have an attack bot! And as I hoped, linkable with Maghariba
    > Carmen Johns is another interesting smoke option; I'm not crazy about the bike and wolf being thematically disjunct from the high tech Haqq theme, but they do seem like a powerful, semi-disposable melee power
    > Fasid gets the Shaytinayah, similar to Azra'il - still a weird choice
    > My test lists always had a Fasid, but the many BS13+ options make me less sure about weighing his tankiness against Mukhtar and Janissary, especially with many things in that 30-40 point bracket

Huh that sheskin is really disgusting. Better CC with protheion than Tarik. Better BS (15!). Always with cover. That’s insane.

The lack of Haris on the Jannisaries hurts, I was hoping their Special link would be something to keep the link cost down.
