Note: In Code One (at least) even in direct template mode, the shotgun(s) remain burst 2. So even though you're super close the threat of 2 armor rolls remains for the template.
Yeah, from the view of whole Haqqislam I'm glad that the shotgun direct template is burst 2. That's a good information. I'm not saying I prefer the new shotguns then the N3 version, but still it's nice. But it also makes me wonder what will happen with the costs of our units - since Ghulam et cetera will have the option for DTW, what's with Naffatuns, one of my favourites? They should be cheaper, having IMHO worse option for close range fighting, not having the versatility of the new shotgun... About the Martial Arts - I'm glad they're streamlined, yet I'm not a fan of how tiny the difference between L3 and L4 are. That's almost nothing - they could easily just make L3 and then just L4 like L5, but without it. Now it's just like there's almost no reason to be 5 levels of this. I'm also really interested in how Natural Born Warrior will be. I've started to play with this not so long ago, thanks to Carmen and Nahabs, I really like them and hope that the rules will remain quite the same... Two more things that I think are important to Haqq - Regeneration as an automatic roll - that's great, just as many of us wanted. Nuce buff for few of our supersoldiers and I hope they will really treat the Automedikit the same (or just make it one rule). Second thing - Fatality. I know many people was cursing on the L2 of that rule, but let's be honest - Tarik without it is still rather unappealing. A big guy that isn't the best at CC, isn't the best in shooting, and now isn't the best in anything. I'm not saying I wanted FAT2 to stay as it was (but with new less devastating crits it wouldn't be that bad), but they could've make this rule more interesting, than just bigger Damage. We'll see how it will affect the costs of units (if they change at all). So that's my first thoughts. With some 2 bigger in the end - why it took so long for CB to finally make a streamlined, easier way of Infi which uses the terrain and mat included in starters? And why they go live with C1 without Haqq and the rest of the armies?... ;) PozdRawiam / Greetings
I think it's possible that Fatality changes in N4 again. The Jayth in Shasvastii have NBW in N3. Now they got MA2, so if they get NBW in N4 I see no reason why Fatality Level 2 should not return in N4. Maybe it was deemed to complicated for C1. And regarding MA: Not only is MA4 pointless, even MA3 is no big change from MA2. MA1, MA2 and MA5 would be enough. Or if you want a "damage-only"-Level, you could make it MA1, MA2, MA4 and MA5. Honestly I hoped for B+1 in CC to be applicated much more.
Because we are whiny little shits who try to break everything and are almost never satisfied with anything. This entire thread and sister-threads are ample evidence. I'm not sure how acute "the SKU problem" has become but the consolidation was clearly given up on. Code One is a retailer solution. "Buy these six or seven SKU and have done with the "essential" stuff that will sell the best. Times four." Why only four? Because rolling it out can probably be finished by the end of the year and still allow non-Code One releases.
We are whiny? :D Have you seen PanO and YJ players? ;) :P @Spitfire_TheCat - About Martial Arts -I've noticed that the Nourkias, character Samaritan, has MAL4 and +1 Burst to CC attack. So maybe that will be a way to increase the burst in CC and maybe few others will get this too. Especially guys who had MAL4 in N3, like Djabel (it would be sweet ;) ). PozdRawiam / Greetings
So the 6-2 movement change to HI is not universal. Based on the fluff, I am speculating the following movement changes for our HI: Al Fasid: 4-4 Asawira: 6-2 Hortlak Janissaries: 6-2 Ayyar: Toss-up. I would like 6-2 to promote their use though. Janissaries: I am thinking 4-4 to show their age and to contrast the Hortlaks. Azra'il: 4-4. Thoughts?
I wouldn't be surprised if Azra'il kept their 4-2 MOV. No idea about the Al Fasid, their armors haven't been described as old models like Azra'il's. But it might change. Also, I'd expect Janissaries to keep in line with other powers' basic HI suits (like Orcs or Mobile Brigada). If those are getting 6-2 MOV, I believe Janissaries should, too. Otherwise, it'd be a thing to balance for with other abilities, or points discount IMO. Not that this isn't out of question, either.
In Code one Army, Sheskiin now has BS Attack (DAM +2). We are assuming that is what is going to happen to Fatality in general.
I don't think the Fat2 change will hit tarik hard. He was amazing because of superjump with 6-4 MOV. What really hits him hard (and alot of other units we have but him harder because of his base) is the super-jump nerf. That will entirely remove him from all my lists unless he becomes cheaper or gets something else. The MOV changes for HI are weird and not consistant (unless that is bugs). For example HacTao got 6-2 but Swiss guard stayed 4-4
You can't fall down at all now. You need to reach the landing spot with your MOV value.Correct me if i'm wrong i only read through the rules only one time yet but the base jump rules seem to force this.
Ah. Well, that's going to change things a bit. I'll have to learn to Superjump around in a new fashion, assuming this comes directly into N4. Still, I don't consider it a dealbreaker for Tarik and the Khawarijs, you know...
What it affects alot is jumping straight up and going down again at the same position while shooting someone. It basically halves the distance you can jump straight up. If the Khawarij MOV stays 4-4 you won't get high enough to look over a 4-inch-building with s2. (I used the MSV2 profile alot to do that in smoke) I guess it depends alot on playstyle how much it matters. I do like the change in general though makes the rules way easier.
You also lose quite a lot of moving distance. In n3 you can jump your full movement horizontally and then fall the rest, now you hav to jump down. If thats in n4 then Superjump is becoming a very niche skill imho. Right now its hard enough to use its full potential, due to how tables are built vertically. You just cant avoid AROs often. And with having to reach the ground with your movement, I see it rarely beeing beneficial. In later turns maybe, when the AROs are gone mostly. Fat 2 has changed from stupid to meh. At least it could have been +3 Dam. Right now you could build the same effect with a MK 12 with +1 B and Fat 1. What I am saying is, that skill doesnt bring anything substantial to the game. And yeah, with the change to Super Jump, Tarik really doesnt look that desireable to have in your list anymore. But on the other hand...who knows, what n4 brings.
We should not forget that +dmg is now more important with the change to crits. It is definitly nice to have.
With the changes to the shotgun coming up in N4, I wonder if the loadouts for Naffatuns and Ghulams will change. I mean, yeah the Naffatuns stil have grenades and a bigger template option, plus flame ammo obviously, but I think they will sort of overlap now even more so. not sure change to what though. Probably too minor a thing though, in the bigger scheme of things.
