Just had a thought about this guy forming a special Haris team with Baggage Bots. Imagine this guy with +1 Burst, dragging around a pair of Burst 4 TR Combis to anchor a zone in a Quadrant scoring mission. Maneuvering around 3 models worth total ~120 points in a Haris team would be pretty good in this context, easily anchoring a zone to backstop other troops aggressively advancing.
That would be amusing to say the least. Especially on a sniper profile. Granted, if we do get linked REMs... I'd expect them not to be the trusty Yaopus. Instead I'd imagine it to be our other REMs ( Or just our Weibings. ) speeding alongside our Guija instead. That being said... Hai Daos forming up a Haris with say an ML or MULTI-HMG Yan Huo sounds like a pretty juicy mobile artillery platform.
Hai Dao! You are the reason that I breathe Hai Dao! You are the reason that I still believe Hai Dao! You are my destiny Hai Dao! Oh, oh, oh, oh Hai Dao! No, there is nothing that can stop us Hai Dao! Nothing can ever come between us Hai Dao! So come and dance with me Hai Dao! Oh You and me, it's destiny Hai Dao!
You know, on the Shooting Star, the faceplate is lifted at the front of the helm to show the actual face. And it occurs to me that the weirdly prominent forehead armour on this dude is actually lifted up and away from the helm in the same way, basically. So I wonder if that's with visor raised, and that little lined grey/grey bit actually sits over the face? Which suggests that it could be some sort of visor system on top of the main armour. Special Support Group looks to mean special combat support group looking at those weapon options, these guys don't look like backline specialists or anyone, they're there to destroy the enemy in special circumstances. So I wonder if that means MSV of some sort? Would be cool, and go well with the ranged weapons they have, not like there's any other MSV in IA right now, they are designed to face PanO who have loads of TO Camo... just a thought anyway.
Looks like a hacking visor. The Celestial Guard Hacker has a similar one, but the grey part on the Hai Dao doesn't protrude like it does on the Celestial Guard render.
The hacking visor on the CG only seems to cover down to the cheek. The Haidao's looks like it more or less covers the face. The extra armor plates, the high collar, and flush face with the visor down gives me an EOD vibe. I wouldn't mind non remote visor options though.
Loanwords, sure. But I'd expect the entire phrase meaning "Black Magic" to be in whichever language we're stealing words from.
Yeah, that would be useful, since IA is really short on sensor (just the Weibing REM) and MSV (Ruishi and LuDuan REMs).
I don't tink sensors will be a thing on IA (at least no more then any other faction sectorial). If you see the sectorials with access to sensors, they're security themed (Tunguska and ISS). IA is military oriented. I have my hopes and worries about this guys. But none regarding the camo hunting. Since 8p Yachi remotes will be Basic autoinclude options to fill out orders the weibing will be a rich and round specialist. Speciallist if the haidaos result to be engineers. The MSV needs without a smoke source will be short too. You have shang-ji intuitives, Yujing remotes, weibing sensor etc... Things that make me feel this guys will not have MSVs
Engineers of the infinity world are also EOD, could be a mask that flips down to protect him from a blast. So only fluff, no in game benefit. Or maybe deactivator plus :)
With the Rui Shi and Lu Dan I'd say IA is pretty well covered for MSV. Most Sectorals don't get MSV1 and MSV2, never mind on multiple platforms.
I think whether this would actually matter much is whether there's also smoke or not. Yeah, that might sound a bit weird, but to be honest most factions have to brute-force through ODD/TO and if Yaoxie are the only source of MSV (doubtful), then that's not going to be all that much different from f.ex. Tunguska. However, I note that Daoying has the same enlarged forehead with cyclops-camera as does Hsien Warriors, so it wouldn't surprise me if this one gets MSV2 (and the number of eye slits tells me baseline BS of 13, rather than the increased BS of the Hsien).
