True, (though NBW takes it up to DAM14), but it's mainly about his chance for crits - IIRC CC25 with NBW - with each one causing 2 automatic wounds. Played the mission last week & it took quite a lot of d-charges to put it down, but that was mainly down to the -3CC from d-charges: whereas troops like the Unknown Ranger or Wallace can use their full CC and not worry about missing the static target. [I'm itching to try it with McMurrough in CHA for DAM19 AP+DA fun!]
Try to do that in limited insertion and a 300 points list. Yes and no. the CCT2 weapon is not anti material, and T2 doesn't have the anti material feature but lets you interact with some doors etc, but the power packs explicitly asks for antimaterial so yes it should be antimaterial but without an oficial clarification its actually not. Compared with the rest of the factions the power pack is a big uphill for usarf and if the enemy player knows what he is doing your chances of scoring are going to end in the first turn.
Maybe you only get Anti-Material if you believe in yourself. That would make sense if the Unknown Ranger is like a saturday morning kids cartoon on Dawn.
That is not the first time the rule is in charts, but written doesn't have tidbit in question. Maybe it wasn't updayed everywhere it appears, maybe something else. Oh well.
My dudes, it is time for this blatant anti-Americanism to stop. Sticky for the The Dice Abides' Guide to USAriadna brand Freedom™
All things T2 aside. Have any of you guys played Paradiso with USAriadna? Or perhaps you have some advice or useful insights? Because right now, the lack of useful specialists are giving me the blues.
Now that the Las Vegas Open is behind me, I'm excited to get back in the saddle with my USAriadna. The new USA Dire Foes character is sounding really interesting. Adding a Light Rocket Launcher to a grunt link seems pretty damn fun, and finally a second source of D-Charges!
I know... every Mission is it's own thing but what Grunts would you include in an "default" Link for her (if she can link with regular Grunts)? HMG, Flamer and two Paramedics?
Depending on her SWC, I think she might be better off replacing the HMG. I always like to take a sniper, which covers both the longer range bands and is no slouch with shock 3 burst. If she is around 25 points with 0.5, I would go Rosies 2 sniper, 2 Rifle or flamer types. I tend to use my grunt links as a back up though. I kinda want to try 2 HMG grunts with 3 rifles to go on suppression and annoyingly hold ground though.
So what is you all’s opinion on the following profiles: Foxtrot with BS: I really liked this profile when I started. Easy way to get up the board for a +6 shot with minus -3 reply. However, for 7 less points you can get a hard case that kind of does the same job. When I think Foxtrots, I make a lot of money with mines and FO profiles who more often than not can stay hidden pooping out little surprises. When I want to fight the hard case is much more expendable and provides a second camo token. Over it becomes more useful. Airborne Molotok: I love the model even though her Molotok is so tiny. However, for the price you are already paying. Why not just take Van Zant? Basically does the same job with minus 1 burst, but better deployment and dogged no SWC. Molotok Maverick: This guy is just expensive as hell and can’t gain cover mods. MSV is nice, but for the lower durability and price I feel like he is best used picking off cheaper camo and mid-tier units which can be done with the LRL profile. If I wanted a Molotok I can take a Marauder that can link and have dogged while also moving up with forward deployment. Yes the Maverick is fast, but the Molotok’s range band is better at mid-range which center board Marauder already can enjoy.
I love the Foxtrot BS myself. The mines can be game savers as you say but my FOs can be too valuable to use them with. The BS has nothing better to do other than mess up the enemy and I expect to lose them always. FO Foxtrots need to stay alive which is much harder. If they release another Hardcase model or I find one I like elsewhere I may start using more of them though, as it stands I like both profiles. Airborne Molotok is one that I take maybe 1 in 5 games at most and always seem to get good use out of it. I love it in the more killy scenarios as most people expect Van Zant, not so many expect a Molotok coming on. If I have a plan and build a list around it I do well. Since I have never just tossed one in I have never felt it being a bad trooper. Just one I am truly forced to think about in list building more so than most. Maverick Molotok I have only tried out once. It died to the first FtF which was just bad luck I guess but don't like it anyway. Maverick with LRL is my go to biker and running 2 of those has never let me down unless the dice hate me that day.
Well guys, I’ll be focusing on USA again for most of the remainder of the year. I can’t wait to get back in action with them, especially with Rosie! Holy crap I love that profile, I’ll be doing a write up for her very soon!
*Facepalm* Really? That's the best video you were able to dig up? *Cracks knuckles* Let's fix that a bit, shall we? Eh? What's that? You hear Freedom on the Horizon? Maybe feeling a little... Overloaded by all the red white and blue? Well too bad! 'Cause the USAriadna's new president is gonna bring Liberty for all... because he's President of the United States, of course! Actually, it would be really awesome if they came out with a Metal Wolf Chaos style character.
Rosie Munroe has been reviewed and added to the first post: https://www.thediceabide.com/blog/2018/4/9/infinity-unit-review-rosie-munroe Also you can read about my game against @WiseKensai , playing 400 points of Comms Center, where I accidentally cheated* with Van Zant, at our recent tournament here: https://www.mercrecon.net/2018/04/09/april-betrayal-tournament-report/ *thankfully we figured I could have pulled it off in a slightly different way to get the same/similar results. @psychoticstorm , how do we get this post stickied? It's the only faction tactics thread not on the Ariadna stickies.
