Basically, take your favorite posthuman specialists, give your engineer a yudbot or two, take your favorite smoke thrower myrmidon (or two, think of them as ablative armor for your marut) and something to cover your rear (one zayin is nice, two are even better, thorakitai can do the trick too, dont forget KHD or danava to deal with AHD)

CoC is debatable, your choice here. If you really want one, i would suggest myrmidon officer instead of shukra, since that one can throw smoke too (1 SWC is a pain in a marut list through) and is far sturdier - since you're bound to have few orders.

As you can see, these lists are rather different, from the order count to the specialists chosen.

 

Sorry if I’m missing something obvious but I am new to the forum - how do you post your lists in the format above?

I have a marut list to share which I have enjoyed :)

 

Marut: 3 SWC + 120 pts (she will always be the Lt). Main vulnerabilities: Speculo killer, Isolated state (Jammer, E/M ammo), IMM-2 state (Jammer, E/M ammo) and Possession (Hacker, H+, AHD).
Sophotect: 31 pts (you need someone to fix the bot... but also to fix the people. IF you feel lucky, you can roll with a Thorakitai Engineer -WP 13, but only 18pts... might prefer a Dactil engineer though). The other option is Machaon + Mk1 Engineer, of course.
2 Smokers. Choose 1 myrmidon + 1 Myrmidon Officer with NORMAL smoke (combi rifle profile), or 2 Myrmidons. They act as bodyguards against melee specialists, smokers to "grant" ODD to the Marut (and hide her from the enemy without MSV2-3 that is not being shot at by the Marut), and cheerleaders.
If you want CoC but have no SWC free, the Sukra BSG is your guy... else the Myrmidon officer is better.
Grab AT LEAST one Danavas hacker (Exorcism!!! Pitcher!) and keep her safe.

Now, on posthumans: I tend to go the way of Mk4 Heavy Rocker Launcher as my main ARO piece (she is "an acceptable loss" if she dies) with a yudbot or the Mk1 medic close by. Then the Mk1 medic to make missions (10 points for a mimetic WIP 15 self-healing specialist? Gimme ten!) or keep bodies alive, and an mk2 AHD to have some midfield control (usually to stop enemy TAGs or HI getting closer).
The Mk1 Engineer gets D-Charges, but cannot heal herself... irrelevant against Shock enemies, but if not I prefer the endurance of the medic.
If you don't have the 0.5 SWC for the mk2 Hacker, then the only option you have is the Mk5 SMG (the good one, anyway), so a KHD Naga might be worthwile.

So the SWC goes:
Marut: 3
CoC: 1 for Officer, 0 for Sukra
Posthumans: 2 (mk4 HRL) + 0.5 (Mk2 AHD)
Danavas: 0.5
Machaon: 0.5
So the choice of Myrmidon Officer Vs Sukra is one of "Do I want 2 non KHD hackers in the list or not", if you want CoC at all.

As for the rest... I prefer Dakinis, since they are fast specialists that can be placed in Suppresive Fire to impose a -9 to enemy shooters at up to 60cm (4 times their movement... their tactical reach is very good). But a Naga or two, a BSG Garuda...

As for cheap orders, well: 3 Netrods, 2 Lamedh and 2 baggagebots. 7 orders for 44 points mean 9 regular orders for 164 points in a group that still can fit the 2 smokers (myrmidons, for example), so 196 points in group 1 and 11 regular orders there, leaving 104 points for group2.

 

@BarbeChenue Marut lists are interesting.
As the Marut himselfs can take care of all your needs for Long Ranged Firepower on his own I usually focus on supporting the bunnybot with advanced troops so she can hang back at least for turn 1.
The result is the lowest SWC Vanilla Aleph list I've ever written.

I'd say my MVPs (besides the Marut) are the Posthuman Sniper and Naga Minelayer. The rest is fairly flexible.

 

I think this is too much. As much as orders are valuables, the quality of these orders must also be considered. The lamedhs are ok, the netrods are cheap and tiny, but you should not add 2 probots in top of that - it's better to add just one thorakitai instead, he has far more presence and will be far harder to remove - or for the same price, a FO thorakitai and a warcor in second group. Probots are big, have absolutely no defense and can't prone, they are just sitting duck AND may be a liability because of them being repeaters. They are a very poor choice as order monkeys.
I find better to have a single order that will need the opponent at least 3 orders to remove, than 3 orders that he can eliminate freely by just doing move+shoot while going elsewhere (thus not dedicacing an order just for that kill), or worse - in 1 or 2 orders only by splitting his burst.

 

Baggage has its own value in certain missions, mind you.

But we were talking about 3 netrods + 2 lamedhs + 2 probots in a Marut list. Would you really take all these in quadrant control with a Marut ? You would be so open to a nasty AD attack ...

I would probably keep the Naga KHD, for a couple reasons. First and foremost, there isn't enough SWC left over for another Minelayer, which would require dropping the Myrmidon Officer. You could still keep most of the tools by swapping Naga KHD, Myrmdion Officer, and Netrod for Myrmidon Chain Rifle, Shukra Boarding Shotgun, and Naga Minelayer. Beyond that, I think that you need at least minor hacking presence for the Marut to shine, otherwise you run the risk of being locked down by a well-placed Repeater. The Naga KHD is also a capable mid-field specialist, for missions that require that, and a solid gunfighter for targets beyond the Boarding Shotgun's reach.

In short, I find the combination of Naga KHD + Minelayer to be quite complimentary in a way that 2xMinelayer would not be. If I were to modify parts of the list, I would likely start with the Myrmidon Officer, Dakini, and Netrods, as there are other ways to fill their roles.
