@grampyseer You’re mistaken me for someone who actually cares about “feel” of the skill and not the game balance. The author comes off as someone who has a bad conscience for wanting to use a Fat2 model, so he’s rationalising the rule so it’s actually “not that different” from a visual mod but “just feels” worse. This is of course nonsense. The core issue of Fat2 is that it turns the user into an “anti-everything” unit with total disregard for specialisation. He’s nearly as good as removing a high ARM TO/ODD as a purpose built MSV2 linked sniper is, that is ridiculous. He is only slightly worse at removing a TAG than a surprise shotting Tankhunter with Auto Cannon, if the Tankhunter doesn’t surprise attack, Tarik is actually better, that is ridiculous. So a Fat2 unit is good a killing LI, MI, HI, REM, TAG’s and cares little about trivial things such as TO/ODD or even range bands, which is not an effect that can be even close to achieved if he had visual mods instead. Try using a Hac Tao with surprise attack against a MBT with 8+ ARM in cover, you’d have a chance of running out of orders before you actually chew through that. So forgive me but I don’t care what the article is trying to prove by shooting on lone fusilier test dummies, it isn’t relevant to the discussion nor does it address why the skill is problematic.

@Ariwch thank you for providing the article detailing Fat2. I am sure many did appreciate the article and have interest in its contents. Unfortunately, I believe this article has entered far too much toxicity to provide any further engagement. @psychoticstorm Truly an embarrassing outcome for for a thread in the Haqqislam forum, especially on a thread asking for aid in helping a new player.
I am severely disappointed by the attitude here, we know your objections, but you do not need and frankly are not allowed to go to other peoples threads and attack other posters who do not have the same opinion as you do, or provide data that are contrary to what you want.
