In fact it make the rules and profile different. Today, if I take a non lieutenant spitfire skiavoros then make him my lieutenant during the game, strategos applies With the way you want to rewrite the rules (without the lieutenant requirement but with strategos attached to the lieutenant profile), I won't have strategos anymore On a pure POW side, I don't see any link between NCO and strategos so I would found merging both as different level of the same skill confusing. It's no more logic than merging inspiring leadership and strategos would be because they both use the lieutenant order
Sure, I'll try to limit the scope of these discussions in other locations. I'm glad you took the time to find a case where that part of the change doesn't work. Just keep in mind that retaining the requirement of being the Lt eliminates the issue. Which shouldn't negate all the other positives... but I can't discuss that here anymore.
Someone else likes the idea of the Gencon special miniature useable for Infinity and Aristeia! as much as myself? Would other people like to keep that idea for future years? Disclaimer i dont play Aleph.
It's definitely a great idea. In fact I would like all of the Aristeia profiles to be usable in Infinity, like a few already are (Massacre, Lunah, now Dart..)
Been done with Red Veil. It was a Musashi 2 models box (the extra model being the Unknown Ranger with the shield in front of him)... and spawned the Musashi Core joke (there are currently 4 different musashi models, plus a chibi Musashi... he can be his own Fireteam Core!). This time, wel... Mind you, I hope that when they release a regular version of Dart, it will be the one as in the Aristeia box (instead of the simple arm-swap I expected), just in metal. Sure, she has no Jumper... but hell, it would be great. Plus I could use her as a Hardcase proxy in StarCo XD
Do we know that they are releasing a regular version of Dart, or will we be cursed forevermore to have to buy her and all her mates in an Aristeia box if we want to use her in Infinity?
Honestly, some of the metal versions of the mini's getting put into blisters and some profiles can be a nice wave of releases for some factions without too much work to gum up the current release schedule. With smoke and mirrors being out I wouldn't be shocked if we saw Father mendoza get released for MO in a future wave, or Hannibal or some of the other merc types get put into the game next time CB takes a look at what to give NA2. Some are clearly more attune to the sports aspect of the game, but some also run around with a shotgun and military gear. Seems like money left on the table to be honest, there's plenty of people here that like the sculpts, hate the plastic so you'd also get people using it to have nicely painted Aristeia mini's in CB pewter.
If CB goes this route they should take a long hard look at the fluff for Aristeia and its characters.
As much as I fundamentally disagree with Ginrei, where else should we discuss newly released rules except in the new releases thread? To do otherwise is to prioritise the hobby part of the game over the gameplay part. Banning that discussion is mistaking a specific problem (everyone was fed up with Ginrei's argument) for a general one (there's a problem with discussing new release rules alongside new release models).
Also being at each other's throats until the new releases arrive and sooth us is what the monthly speculation threads are all about.
Is this the part where someone shows up and makes the thread about food? We haven't done that in a while.
The difference is, you dont get the cards for Aristeia! with Musashi box and Major Lunah. Which is a bit annoying cause the alternate Skins come with alternate Artwork cards which allow you to play the same model on both sides of the Hexadome. Which is nice if some of the others in your group havent invested in Aristeia! yet. I thought its something to hope for future releases.
