Facts exist whether people can grasp them or not. The sheer number and weight of those not understanding is tough to compete with. I've tried many times to explain them in different ways that i hope people will understand. It's a fact that making Strategos lvl0, allowing a trooper to use the Lt Order, and putting the Strategos skills on specific profiles and not troopers causes no complications in the function of these rules. Absolutely none. It is a fact and not opinion. Lets try this with visual aids: Put in brackets Strategos lvl3 on the Morat Lt. It works perfectly. Now put Strategos lvl0 on the top combi profile, it works perfectly. Now take Strategos lvl2 off the Skiavoros trooper and put it on the Lt profile. Again, it works perfectly.
Yes, that's a fact. But it's your opinion that this means that it makes sense to include NCO in Strategos.
I wasn't convinced until I saw the word 'fact' both bolded and underlined. I am a convert - the only way this could be more obviously a fact is if it was italicized as well.
Oh and maybe pictures will help @ijw as well. See the three times it lists being the Lt as a requirement? Those get removed making the rule shorter. That's another fact.
You're correct, it's my opinion NCO should be reworded and included in Strategos. I've already said this. I clearly said it was artistic design up to the developers whether they believe the fluff of NCO is more important than improving the rules. EDIT: But you've been defending CBs choice based on the opinion that what i've suggested doesn't actually improve or function. Which i've proven otherwise. This is an important distinction to make @ijw .
It still kills the only common thing Strategos skills currently have and that is that they only work on Lt. All their effects are different. If we remove that you could make any skill in the game strategos.
Actually it's still needed as in your proposed change Strategos level 1 would continue to work if the Lt. was changed For example, Voronin is the Lt and Van Zant comes in and uses Executive Order to become the new Lieutenant, without the caveat written into the rule Voronin could continue to use Strategos level 1 EDIT: As requested, I'll drop rules discussion in this thread
Atalanta is also... quietly interested. With her cold, flat eyes. And her gun bunny is looking too... ...intensely
Not until there is some official forum rule of where these discussions should go. And at that point i expect to see it enforced where appropriate. Fair enough. I can't argue that fact :P. EDIT: see, that's how an opposing argument is made or fact is proven incorrect.
Can you please take the what skills should be in a dedicated discussion and be polite while discussing them?
I don't understand. What location should, "the what skills should be in", be in? What other topics don't belong in this thread? Is there a list? Will you give the same warning to other perpetrators when this happens? Or is there a number of times we can mention or discuss it before a violation occurs? Or are you simply the judge and make a ruling on a case by case basis? Help me understand the guidelines please.
I think this tread is about discussing the new releases, technically a small mention of the skills given a sneak pick is logical, but an extensive discussion of the skill structure and in depth discussion of crunch of the game system is not in order, other people are here to see the new models and discuss a bit about new skills, stats, when they will come out ectr, not an in depth discussion about game design.
@psychoticstorm Ruling please? Can i go there and discuss rule structure and design? Or is that limited to the understanding and application of rules to in-game situations?
technically no, at least not yet, we are working on something for this, please be patient, can I suggest off topic till we do so?
