 Wish i had that kind of luck!

I'm getting closer to getting TTS. Though the thought of more time at the computer after work does not appeal but I really want to play!

It's not the same as playing IRL of course, but between how decent TTS works and something like Discord to chat it is really cool.

I participate in vauls league and its nice to play against people from around the world.
I also played a Looting and Sabotage game against a friend and the Jammer (Disguised as Zhanshi Hacker) shut down the Makaul with DA CC weapon an inch before he reached the target. Although he was killed by a Symbiobomb in the same order. Nasty things!
I played him in WB sectorial in a core link. I must admit it leaves a foul taste once your opponent realised that he could do nothing to prevent that attack. (no Stealth, B2, WIP17) I hope Jammers get fixed in N4 in general.

I can honestly say the appeal of Vanilla Yu Jing these days is greater than ever. Whether that's a lacking in the other two Sectorials department or how well these new add-on units mesh with the standard vanilla roster is another debate entirely. But having access to key units like the Daoying, Kuang Shi, Shaolin, and Libertos is pretty great. Tigers are also pretty nice and the Ye Mao are growing on me. Mowang in Vanilla is a pretty solid gunfighter too. The Blue Wolf loves having a free order pool to use on its own as well.

I agree more and more. I'm liking the sectorals less and Vanilla more. The AVAs in the sectorals are not a big deal. I'll never take the max AVA in most of those anyway. I like Tigers but I don't see myself taking more than 2. Same with Guilang. Link teams can be good but I don't think necessary.

Just noticed one thing. Our Hundun hrl is 8pts cheaper than tankhunter autocannon. Worse gun with impect template +1bs +3bts and and x-visor vs courage and +1ph. Good trade imho. Of course we have no AP HMG but still. Autocannon can be considered more iconic.

edit: I didn't count +1CC and CCW instead of knife. Tankhunter gets d-charges but with that type of gun they are useless.

For gunfighters, I'm starting to like the Hundun Shock marksman rifle. I keep forgetting it's MI and for now, can Forward Deploy L1. So it can start in good positions, possibly in +3 range. Then it can also go into suppression too. Great if you need it. The Hundun, on paper, is one of the best gun fighters for it's points and BS.

    Lets talk specialists
i'm glad we are getting more Engineers,.We now have the Jujak and Ye Mao. But unfortunately for me, in Vanilla, he's way down the list for them. I'm still more likely to take a Monstrucker, then Haidao, and Mech-Eng, in that order before either of the new guys.

One new FO with Ye Mao and again i'm more likely to take other FOs before him.

We did get a new Chain of Command with Adil. He's not bad for the most part, I'd take him over a Pheasant, but if if i feel in need CoC, i'm more likely to go with Tai Sheng or Lei Gong.

I do think we got some great new Hackers though. The Tian Gou KHD with madtraps is pretty good I think. The Ye Mao is also pretty good. The BTS 6 sets him apart from other hackers in the same price range. He's also good with more things like shooting. However, it's still goign to take some specific missions for me to take him over, almost as good but much cheaper, hackers.

Also, our 2 new sectorials gave us huge quantity of low/no swc gunfighters. In old Yu Jing I used to run something like rui shi + big bad HI + tiger/backup lighter HI to do most of shooting. Rest of the list was full of chain and combi rifles. Now we can field hundun, mowang, Tai sheng, Lei Gong, ye mao and liu xing who are all useful gunfigters at low swc with interesting weapons. I know that combi rifle is the best weapon in infinity but it gets boring very quickly.
Oh and long ya can be used as excellent alpha strikers as well. Put marksmanship on it and launch into opponent DZ. If it dies it was only 20/25 pts and h. shotgun with camo, 6-4 and FD1 can do a lot of hurt.

One thing I've been liking about a lot of the WB profiles are the inclusion of Panzerfausts. We've been lacking (SWC) cheap, hard-hitting attacks for coordinated fire, and the Long Ya, Ye Mao and Jujak provide those, often with other perks like being a specialist.

Also, damn, I forgot the Long Ya has 6-4 move, that's a pretty mean attack piece on top of being a really annoying speedbump! It might be my favourite new profile in WB.

I think i like the Heavy Shotgun more. I like that, after it deploys it's mines, it can be used pretty aggressively. But then i really like the cheaper SMG too! It might come done to mission maybe. The great thing about the SMG is, again after laying mines, it can go int suppression with the SMG.

In the beginning I want to point out that I like our new sectorial and I think it definitely is in better half of all sectorials out there.

I am constantly building different WBA lists (quarantine gives a lot of free time) and today I sadly realized that although those list are quite nice and I want to play with them, the only thing that they do better than vanilla is that 1 link team of zhanshi with shang hrl and while it's not a very bad link, it consists of two units we can agree are slightly overpriced and not super optimized for fireteams like kamau (he shouldn't be that good but I digress). Sure there is our new jammer guy and he is very good but with defensive link team, most of the time he won't even use his toolkit.
So I tried to make vanilla list with similar units that appear in my WBA lists and apart from that questionable fireteam there is little in defense of WBA:

    The cool WBA

What are your thoughts on relative strength of our vanilla and new sectorial?

Vanilla is probably better, but the lists would be very similar for me since I don't like Kuang Shi on a mechanical level. I'd basically make my WBA lists with a Daoying, Wild Bill, and maybe a Mowang in there with the rest being WBA. I'd be missing out on the crushing Qiang Gao burst and the extra Rui Shi largely.

I'm a bit split atm. I think WBA is more interesting and better than both IA and ISS, but as you note WBA acts very similar to vanilla.

Realistically, it's not like anyone is going to be in a meaningful position to play any real games before N4 comes out anyway, which is why I've been hesitant to touch WB list building at all. It and Winterfor are clearly very rushed, and rough for it. I expect to see things change considerably once N4 hits, and we see things as they were intended.

That said, I think that WB's strengths will lie in its creative Haris and duo options above all else. The core options simply aren't that impressive outside of jammer buggery, and I think that's clearly by design. That said, a Jujak Haris option would open things up a lot.

I've so far lost all 3 matches I've played in our Tabletop Simulator league using White Banner Army, and in all three matches concluded I need to deploy ARO pieces (slightly) more aggressively. VaulSC also runs international TTS tournaments. Even though there is both a lack of models and a lack of opportunity to play with them physically, this doesn't mean you can't run meaningful games.

If the Facebook slip up is anything to judge by, what we got is mostly what we'll have in N4 meaning any meaningful changes will be to game mechanics. WinterFor seems to mostly have some minor alterations to Fireteams in N4 and a new A! hero - IFF that was an N4 screenshot they accidentally put up.

I'm honestly getting a bit disenchanted with WBA as a sectorial. It's a solid enough sectorial, but the more interesting fireteams haven't been yielding results because they are too expensive for how vulnerable the list as a whole gets so the net results seem to be that the sectorial isn't offering enough reasons to play over vanilla.
Jujak taking over the roles of Shang-Ji completely (meaning Wildcard and Haris option) would probably do a lot for the sectorial which is kind of funny how I find myself saying "cut content to improve everything", I just don't honestly feel like Shang-Ji has much business being in WBA.

I've yet to test Ye Mao, but I would've loved to be able to put one together with Blue Wolf. I mean... duh... who wouldn't want an LI/MI Engineer together with their TAG/REM/HI?

That said, I can really see how vanilla Yu Jing is going to be WBA and friends, with a few units from the other two sectorials for optimization.

There's a Facebook slip up I didn't know about? Please share the info :P

On a more serious note: I've been playing vanilla since WBA released. I think some of the new units add a lot of power to the army, particularly the Tian Gou, the Blue Wolf and the Long Ya.

Tian Gous have been amazing for me in the three games I've tested them. With Kuang Shis and Monks in the mix, my DZ feels secure af. They even bait assassins and rambo pieces with Holo1. In combination with Camo or Hidden Deployment HIs, they can pose as something big and scary and the opponent can't really see behind the mirage. I love to make them look like a Hsien HMG while my Hac Tao/Daofei is nowhere to be found on the other side of the table.

I have a match pending with the Blue Wolf (Show of Force), but it does sound better than the Guijia. And since TAGs are looking to get a buff in N4 (thanks to the new crit rules) I believe is a clear upgrade.

Long Ya are awesome. Period. They do a lot for the price you pay, and in vanilla you can pair them up with Hundun, Libertos, Daoyings... The mind games are endless when you start spamming the camos.

It's a shame with how good other factions teams are compared to ours, but with the variety in our roster I feel makes up for that.

It's still hard for Vanilla to deal with link teams but at least now I feel we have more tools to do that.

I've just come to realize how many good troops we now have for 25pts or less. I made the below list based on that. The Tian Gou and Liang Kai helped to do that. I could even change out something to have another TG. If I had let myself go to 26pts. I could have had a couple Hundun HRL, Haidao, Ninja, etc.
