New Kuangshi are cool!! But the open face mask annoys me, if I am nitpicking. Kuang shi don't deserve faces. GO SPLODEY NOW.
I like him! I dig his booty bag. I'm glad they've added something like that I miss the old no-longer playable Para-Commando with bag, and this is a major improvement on that.
I think the Aleph shotfun was awesome, but wouldn't have the same impact on the Garuda, so I can see why they resculpted it. On a human figure though, it might look bad. As for Kuang Shi... it straight up looks like the typical light shotgun across many factions. That's not confusing at all... and the Yu Jing shotgun was a great design in my opinion. A bit annoyed by it, but can't deny the mini looks good.
That shotgun is as large as a man. Gief shotgun Garuda fatality level 1 please. As to your question, maybe CB was getting pushback from casuals and nogunz who can't recognize a shotgun unless it has a giant tube magazine and slide (even if it has drum magazine).
The Irmandinho visible with the Garuda has me excited. Perhaps now they will no longer have the confusing flippers, scuba gear, Anchor logo, and lack of Aquatic Terrain. Plus a scavenging suicidal engineer is a funny concept to me. The open faceplate is a really weird choice. It was kinda acceptable on the Wu Ming because you see the number 4 on his head but as far as I know Kuang Shi are supposed to be brainwashed, almost mindless/zombie-like, and having the open face plate, slightly humanizing them, is a really strange design choice that seems counter to fluff. And with the helmets relatively unchanged, the sleeves and chests looking very similar, with the weird wire hair and the almost plump look the all have, they look so much like the old ones, barely a re-design, that I would ask "why bother resculpting?" But I already know the answer. The kit is going to be more expensive than the old box, without the spare Chain Rifle/BSG arms, and still be a best seller because they're a signature unit for ISS and Yu Jing. Also, I prefer the design of weapons in my armies to be modular, the different looking Boarding Shotgun is weird to me. I would prefer it to match the Tiger Soldier and others. It left me wondering if they were addign a Light Shotgun profile to them instead, and give them a minor rework (perhaps not to the extent that Su-Jian had) but it's clearly labeled Boarding Shotgun which confuses me. The one positive I like from the box is that they're half female, because women can be political dissenters and criminals too (although men admittedly by far occupy prisons more). Shallow as it may be, that's reason enough for me to buy the box (plus I have had major curiosity in 8 Kuang Shi ISS lists) Cheer Leading? Chasing people for [perhaps too] warm hugs? Blasting Hot loads into peoples' faces? I can see the problem with the last one.
This is also my issue (along with no four Chain Rifles). If ever there was a unit I wanted to see entirely helmeted, it was the Kuang Shi.
