I think this should stop the discussion about the technicalities of the decision now if you want to discuss why increased B on FO and the other skills/ equipment should be a thing from a balance, practical perspective, please continue.
The biggest aspect I feel that is missed is that the faq file is a combination frequently asked questions and errata. So some in there is an actual change to how the game is to be played regardless of how it was previous. I feel the FO ruling is in this boat.
Slightly off-topic but connected with the new FAQ: Did they change Shock ammo yet again so it doesn't work against 2+W models? Seems strange, as I thought one of the newer Aleph profiles had multiple Wounds and Shock Immunity (might be mistaken though).
so does Forward observe get the +3 WIP bonus for a link team then? still waiting on a yes or no for that one
The +3 BS MOD applies to BS Attacks. Forward Observer has the BS Attack label, which we know means that it can be performed by declaring BS Attack.
So the FAQ says that you don't get the burst bonus for skills and equipment. Does that mean a Druze using fatality LVL 1 skill doesn't get the extra burst?
Ok then you need to fix your FAQ then. The reason you have given for certain things not getting the burst in the FAQ is as follows. "No, because they are skills or items of equipment" that is the reason you have provided for things not getting the burst bonus. The fact that so many people have been confused is not a failing on the players part for asking these questions. And I take exception to you posting @psychoticstorm with a non helpful post when all I'm trying to do is clear up confusion. @ijw thank you for clearing that up for me.

It's simple: the FAQ tells you to ignore an unspecified part of the rules text but not other unspecified parts of the rules text. Without actually discussing the fact that it's changing how everyone understood the text. I really don't see why you're still confused.
I am sorry there is nothing to fix in the FAQ, 3 member bonus works on BS weapons, Forward Observer is not a weapon, 5 member bonus works on BS attacks, Forward Observer is a BS attack. @deltakilo Why exactly it is unhelpful? I gave you the exact reason why they would get the bonus, a Druze fireteam with 3+ members using their BS weapons gets a B bonus from the fireteam bonus and can use Fatality at the same time, they are not using Fatality short skill to attack, they use their combi rifles(for example), on which both Fatality skill and fireteam B bonus can be applied.
Because the rule for Forward Observer literally tells you that using it is a "form of attack with a BS Weapon". So Forward Observer isn't a BS Weapon. But using it is. I think it's fairly self evidently clear why that might be confusing when someone reads that Fireteam Burst Support Bonus applies to BS Weapons to anyone who understands English moderately well (and probably even more so to someone that doesn't), and wants to understand it.
