Thanks, the purple part was really the easiest part as in zero effort at all, that may explain why I'm not satisfied with the blue. Now with some minor hi-light,colour breakers and base they look a less dull to me. Not entirely happy, I'm feeling I like better my Haqq than my main YJ faction lately. I'll certainly patch the central base to hide the pining part as the two ground points are not aligned (and my base is not flat). I don't know why but I have the same feeling with those as I got with the previous Haqq minis. I'm really happy with some several specific (like the camo part here) but the overall is kind of deceiving to me. Plus I really find my paint work inconsistent. I may do an army shot to see if everything ties together. Spoiler: Non HTTPS Hi-Res pics
First of, i really like the minis and how you painted these. really smooth transition on the whites! Since your Palette consist of mostly cold colours some spots with warm colour might help. To me these three look consistent. Haven“t seen your other Yu Jing.
To be honest pics tend to make them more gorgeous than in real life . White was achieved the same way purple was. It makes white and black really easy but this time I'm not as happy as for previous minis with whit so I tried to work shade with a bit of blue. Again, it kind of work but no happy me. You could check my previous entries here. Anyway, thanks for the nice words.
I love the yellow markings. I'm a bit confused by the darker look compared to your previous minis. Is it just a lighting difference or is it really the paint job ?
It's the lighting. I use natural lighting and in the other pics my phone's photo app always push them a bit brighter. I kept this one slightly darker, going for that sinister feel. :)
I could have understood that for this specific sinister look you choose to darken your paint work. Thanks for the clarification.
I thought about doing that, but decided to keep the scheme consistent. I did omit the final edge highlight on the armour though.
I didn't manage to finish my Space Hawk this month, but I'm quite happy with the progress, looks like I could potentially complete it in August.
