@Engorn Thanks to an appalling April bizzard (19" of snow when I blew it out this morning, and more all day), I've been house bound with nothing to do but paint. Maggie pilot is not great, I might retouch her face, but then again, how often will I actually use her?
Well, I finally got to finishing the Warcor. Also assembled the Garuda and primed both the Bashi Bazouk SMG and Garuda Spitfire. @Engorn Yes, that's a nerf pistol for the stun pistol.
@Engorn I`ve finished with all five Riot grrls. Also improved Moderators a bit with white stripes on pants.
I love the different colors on the Girls. Do they combine together to form Voltron or pilot a Megazord? These are my current planned color schemes for the Garuda and Bashi Bazouk. One Imperial Service, the other what I'd imagine the Ikari color scheme to be based on the Wardriver, Yuan Yuan, and Cube Jaeger. And adjustment to the Bashi Bazouk, or is that pretty much getting it? The Garuda's pretty far along, I think I'll post the actual model soon.
Lol. No, actually there is combination of blue shoulder pad and weapon (because in my color scheme Moderators, Grrls, Taskmasters, Tsyklons, Lizard and maybe Morlocks are part of Moderator corps) + one individual bright color. Red on knee pads and knuckles is to blood stains be less noticeable.
@taylor: I like your color scheme for the combined. They are really great looking. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
Thanks @unclesrouce - It actually came about when i had a conversation with a friend of mine who was complaining that the demons in a fantasy game looked too much like aliens. My position was .. WHY CAN'T THEY BE BOTH?!! So, i looked up some references.. mainly from DOOM, and went ahead with it.
Done with my pledge. I've ordered some PanO decals, but the paint is done done DONE! Group shot: FC6 FC1 @sarf - really digging the Riot Grrls mate!
@Engorn Putting my money where my mouth is, or rather my brush where my digital recoloring is. Pretty happy with it, although a few of the highlights could have been done smoother. It came out as good as I could expect. I'll see if nicknaming it "Gary" will catch on like "Susan" for the Su-Jian. Pinte un Garuda en los colores del Servicio Imperial (Yu Jing).
@Engorn Well, I did my best to try to extrapolate a color scheme from the Yuan Yuan from Red Veil and Fat Yuan Yuan pack, Dossier of the War Driver, and the Cube Jaeger.from that one picture with Ikari textand apply it to the Bashi Bazouk. Plus an attempt at mundane NMM with the sword. Anyways, here it is . It's closest to the Wardriver, and overall the scheme is more striking than I expected. And I think I spent a good fraction of the time picking the colors to go in certain areas, and trying to figure how to capture the off black armor. Still don't quite have a handle on the Haqqislamite Airborne Deplyoment fins though. How'd I do? P.S. sorry to double post
I like the black armor. Mixing glossy black armor on a model were you're also using NMM is hard for me anyway. I feel I need to create two degrees for shininess from just grays and blacks -- very hard to get two textures. Regard the haqq wing... I don't like the edge highlighting on the bottom of the wing, I don't feel the light would catch there. I would rather has some streaks to imply the speed of flight/falling through a rainy/grimy atmosphere.
¡Por Fin! The Daofei from since forever. That's it for me for a while too. I have so many almost finished minis that I ought to finish.
Just like software development, 80% of the work is done in 20% of the time, and the last 20% work drag on forever. Keep up the painting.
