So much this for MAF! Some MI/HI with Full Auto would be most welcome. Also give Raktorak a place in other links. Many other things would be nice to see in MAF like KHDs (not on bit/kiss), perimeter weapons. Really anything that would buff Morats a bit. Most of their units seems highly priced due to Morat rule and have better alternatives in vanilla.
I really don't want perimeter weapons in MAF. I want a kit that emphasizes active turn killing as oposed to reactive turn holding. So while things like Full Auto would be welcome, I in particular don't want anything that increases the MAF's defensive power. Give us Full Auto and Marksmanship! I want to kill stuff :D[/QUOTE]
I had Zerats in mind when writing about perimeters. Mostly because their survival ability is rather low when in infiltration compared to similarly priced Morans or any cheap camo marker troops. I would welcome anything that would give off that superior soldiers vibe. Be it offensive, defensive or some other mixed bag. Full Auto and Marksmanship most welcome:)
Changing all EI aspects to structure instead of wounds would be magnificent and would make sense to me thematically, but at the very least we could use an amendment to command token usage to allow doctor rerolls for G:Mneumonica models, who otherwise lack cubes and are more harshly impacted by the shock ammo faq because of it. I would like to see a new Aspect geared for close combat. Not because I think we need it, just because I think it would be cool. I'd also be overjoyed to see the Combined Army master some of those exclusive human skills like Marksmanship, Ambush etc.. I'd like some manner of first turn defensive options for Morats, minelayer, peripherals, whatever. Also something more to differentiate the roles of Suryats and Sogarats, preferably more mobility options for Suryats. I'd like to see an infiltrating close combat specialist like the Igao for Morats. And lastly, allow Suryats to duo with Raktoraks. Oh. Yeah. Linkable Kurgat autocannons too. For Onyx I'd like to see a Sygmaa or Nexus warband unit, a linkable Sygmaa unit and Sygmaa, Nexus and Umbra named characters. I can't comment much on Shas, as I have little to no notion about how they're being redesigned. I guess I have close combat units on the brain because I'd love to see lots of new capable Protheion units in Shas, as well as some kind of light heavy infantry.
I think you're forgetting that the upgrade from a Combi Rifle to a K1 Combi Rifle costs 5 points. So the stats/skills are more like 15 points. I'm strongly opposed to Chain of Command for any units in Combined Army, since it interacts very poorly with G: Mnemonica.
MI Vanguards are a great idea. Personally I'd love the Kurgats and Zerats getting some love. As for Shas - just give us an underhanded, misdirecting, camo- and mine-heavy sectorial without useless units and I'm good.
Morats really need a CoC profile ASAP. Really now, some units are overpriced, especially vanguards and the sectorial does not have its own ‘character’ compared to other ones. Just give them a new rule “aggression” or something instead of just making them immune to isolation and stubborn. I like playing them because they look awesome and have pretty cool fluff but they do not play fluffy at all.
I don't think G:Mneumonica for Umbra makes sense. They are not aspects. CoC is perfectly fine in Shas and Onyx, and actually would make a lot of sense in Onyx, it would seem to me. Vanilla CA is the only army that has G:Mneumonica troops, and Morats don't need it (though it would be fluffy, I guess). You could limit the CoC profiles to those sectorials, so you wouldn't need the profile bloat in CA.
To be fair, it's implied they're more closely linked in with the EI than other races (to reign in their naturally sadistic tendencies).
I agree on some units (I would point at Vanguards, Yaogats, Suryats and the Raicho) are overpriced, but I disagree the sectorial lacks character. Being stubborn is a character and is one I would not like to lose even if it came with some benefits. I do think they need to be more focused on active turn killing, and I think the way to do that is to slightly rebalance the models to make them more effective in straight up gunfights. For example: someone has suggested making the Raicho have frenzy. This would lower its cost and incentive the players to dump a lot of orders into it in the first turn to really get the most of the TAG before it inevitably goes down in a blaze of glory. Is it a perfect idea? No. But it would be fun.
And one more tiny wish, change Vanguards' K1 sniper into MSR. I don't know why CB even bothers giving units K1 sniper rifles. No one plays them anyway.
It is a 1CAP weapon with the range of the sniper rifle, and best odds against it when rolling ARM are 50% (due to Partial Cover). Considering how much Haqquislam enjoys the Shock Sniper Rifle, I would try it instead of condemning it outright. Besides, you can also field Missile Launchers, and most Morat players go for Oznat's order farm anyway.
