If I declare a BS Attack with a DTW in ARO and it does not affect the Active Trooper, what happens?

It's likely I've just missed it, but do the Code One rules explain what happens?

    Consider this situation:
Alice Moves within LOF of Bob
Bob AROs with a DTW that affects Charlie, but not Alice. That is, the Template does not hit Alice.

    What happens at Resolution?

Per N3, a DTW ARO which doesn’t cover the active trooper is cancelled.

The paragraph which I thought the N3 faq cited (but was probably in the pre-faq discussion), the one about the target being beyond the maximum range of the BS weapon, is on page 44 of the CodeOne rules.

This has been the obligatory response to the obligatory rules oversight.

Yes, but this isn't N3 and the CodeOne rules don't actually say they require a Direct Template Weapon to cover the main target nor does e.g. a flame thrower have a range characteristic. CodeOne states that a template weapon affects the main target and can also affect additional targets, it's missing a few bobs and ends in how the attack happens, such as that it has to touch the primary target.

DTWs in CodeOne don't have a range at all (it's just blank). So that paragraph doesn't cover off on this situation; it would work if they had a range of "Large Teardrop Template", but they don't so it doesn't.
