My wishlist for DBS is just the addition of a Monstrucker and a Wardriver to get support for REM-heavy lists. 3 Pathfinders need some help! :)
Not seeing the appeal of a Wardriver with Valerya already in the faction. Monstruckers would be really cool though, especially for supporting a Generic Ramhorn TAG!
Well based on what jfunkt said, it seems that DBS won't change in the future! I guess that means all we can hope for in terms of changes are changes to existing profiles, as we got with the ABH getting a new profile! (In that particular case it was a very useful profile for DBS!) So perhaps in future those are the changes that may breathe some new life into the sectorial! Perhaps a better Anaconda profile (as I know people don't seem to like it very much, or an Armand profile that isn't terrible! But my biggest wish, and honestly it's just because I love the profile, would be if Druze could steal themselves a suit of Zhencha armour... Just one... And make it a minelayer too! :-p
Armand profiles are terrible??! Thats heresy to me! :p I almost always use him, with veeery nice results. Last Saturday i won a 12 man Limited Insertion tournament in my city (Seville, Spain) with him in both lists, both profiles. (With Druze, of course) As wishlisting, anything they add i would like them to make it lore friendly. For me, the best of Druze is the Bad dudes Mafia fluff. If the added units or profiles keep up with that im ok. Im already having a lot of fun with Druze as it is :D
I uh, gotta confess I have done that shitty internet thing and trash talked a unit without ever actually trying it before! :-l Next game I am gonna take him for sure though! I gotta get some experience with him! :-)
FWIW the year (season 9) I came in 4th At Rumble with DBS I belive I played Armand in 3 of my games. Most players see him as an ARO unit, and while he does that very well, in DBS his value to me was as a tough (essentially 2W) unit who presents another ranged attack vector; one that can take on fireteams and TR bots directly. It's a unit that may not fit a lot of play styles and from strictly a cost standpoint it's hard to justify. If you know how you will use him and then execute with him on the table, he can be solid.
Spot on. I've said this a lot in the past, but too many people see a sniper rifle and think "ARO piece" when they should be thinking "Flexible piece that can be used in the Active or Reactive". This goes doubly for Armand as his akimbo Breaker Pistols work really well for CQB.
Jfunkd, I know this is probably a long shot, but would you be willing to share your lists from that particular Rumble? And would you recommend the MSV1 Armand? :-)
Looking at all the "alternative ways of playing druze" story.... will QK be updated (and most importantly its druze mechanics)??
@roobot I don't know if it would accomplish anything because that Rumble was an odd line up of missions, several of which Druze seem to excel in part because of Saito and one was HP. The meta has changed so much that I would probably never run those lists again. Truth be told, I was never comfortable with them to begin with. I'm not even proud of those lists, but they got me through the two days to a respectable finish. There were holes in those lists where I was just gambling I wouldn't have to face something that could cut it apart. I was scared to death that neither of my lists included a KHD even tho I had the AHD brawler and Valerya with a peacemaker making them vulnerable, but I lucked out and it was not relevant in my games. I didn't include a pathfinder so in power pack versus Rob's Tohaa with two clipsos in HD and him starting reactive; my only path to victory meant putting him into retreat... needless to say, that didn't happen... not even close. I can more or less tell you what I did with Armand tho. In Rescue Armand just stayed back in the DZ, with nice area denial ARO firelanes as the DT, and was there for Saito to hand off the Civvie. In Acquisition he was my reserve unit to attack the opponent's core from an angle where I could engage the less strong ARO. In Power Pack, where I lost, he was one hell of a midfield speedbump until he got shot in the back. I used him 3 or 4 other times, with mixed results.. one notable time was getting him elevated and behind Scarface on suppression fire where they both covered the only possible approches.
