Something like this could be an aggressive Securitate Fireteam without breaking the bank. Add a Feuerbach or Grenzer ML for some linked ARO goodness that you can abandon to advance.

I dont see myself ever taking her unfortunately. Hopefully later on down the road she gets a better profile.

Jelena is pretty cool. A cheaper and better Sensor alternative to the Grenzer, breaker ammo and a DTW. Yes BS 12 is nothing to write home about, but X-Visor somewhat makes up for that. Not a no-brainer choice but a situational alternative to their generic counterpart with additional utility at slightly higher point cost, which is what DF chars should be IMO, not auto-takes.

x-visor and superjump are two of my favorite tools, but I also understand why people are disappointed. These are factions people are waiting to improve and this was a wasted chance.

Personally I treat them like friends: you know they have flaws, you hope that they change, but if you expect it to happen you won't be happy even if they do.

I'd agree with you 100% if she could join Grenzer links and/or the Woody Harrelson Haris. By doing neither all she does is displace Grenzers as an upgrade choice for Sec links.

What I'm seeing is that she closes off existing link options (as comparatively sub-optimal) rather than opening up new ones. That's bad design.

What new link options do you see as viable?

Take @jfunkd aggressive core. That was already doable with either a Grenzer FO or Percy in place of JK. Its not a new link at all: it's marginal differences and a cost reduction. But they're significant enough that the Grenzer FO version may as well no exist.

That being said, I've been trying to find a list that I'd want to use her in. I'm not a huge fan of aggressive cores anymore, but I can see their use mid to late game. So I thought something like this might work:

It is, however, very face punchy (with little in the way of not obvious tricks) and runs into the problem of wanting both a Dak and Clockmaker. So playable, but not great but admittedly an improvement on the not-JK version.

This game needs more heroes designed like Lupe.

I wasn't particularly a fan of Lupe until the most recent update. I hadn't played CJC before Jags were released, and "I can upgrade my Alg to Lupe or I can get a Jag and a Warcor" was an easy decision to make.

Now though, she adds a lot of resilience to what would otherwise be awkward Fireteam composition choices.

I really like her for mimetism cqb and smoke in a duo with the Gecko and she adds as a specialist and gunner to Jaguars. Good for more than one thing but isn't replacing any profiles and is never an auto-include in a link.

She was always a good unit but there was never a good reason to move Alguacil in to her effective ranges so I never used her before. She would have been better as a Wildcat only instead at release.

I really like her in the Massacre Haris: the smoke/eclipse means that you can easily get her into her ideal range bands where she outperforms Breaker Combi Massacre as the 16" gun, allowing you to happily drop to the BSG Massacre.

I need to run her and a Dak in a Massacre Haris for Supplies. That or in a Wildcat Haris to add Smoke. Or potentially in a Wildcat Core with a Massacre Haris with a Dak.

These feels like new link choices, not just upgrades to existing choices. Which is why I loved that she got Wildcard. Whereas with JK it's like CB hasn't learnt from Lupe.

With only 3 members the loss of one with FD1 is much more of a drawback, but she is useful. Especially because I don't usually put a support weapon in the Haris. Getting a more useful Haris profile would make them much more useable. 2 SWC for a spitfire haris leaving only 1 specialist is a bit rough. Hacker, engineer or spitfire would all be nice as a haris choice. As it is now I put in 2 specialists, accomplish my mission, then set them for mid board control.

Yeah, our MI Haris' are where I'd first look at updating our sectorials.

Haris on the Grenzer FO would go a long way to making that Haris more playable.

I really like our new Kovacs. Cheap, flexible, mobile utility. Veteran L1 and Sensor is a relevant combination these days vs Zulu Cobra and Hecklers, X-Visor and Sensor similarly is a relevant combination, I'll never not find Sensor useful in fact. A DTW is also always a useful bit of gear, I find.

I don't know what people expected that this is disappointing in terms of power. She was never going to get MSV2 or anything like that. Based on her being a LI character linkable in Securitate, this is very nice.

While I expected a bit more or something more extraordinary from the new SpecOps ... they are (both) pretty boring if you ask me and it's a missed opportunity for something completely different ... although I like the X-Visor, because they are rare for Nomads ... I think at least the names are hilarious ...

    The PanO-guy ... Richard ... our gal ... Jelena ... russian for Helena ... shorter ... Helen ...
If they both have a kid together they can call it Timmy :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::joy:

I think you pretty much hit the nail, the combination of sensor + Vet lvl 1 is unique and the only thing that supposes a hard counter to all the jammer tricks seen lately. The fact she can join securitate links, while saving you 6 pts from the Grenzer FO, just means you can get a full core inmune to jammer. Although she can go solo hunting too. The visor X and chain colt are just the icing on the cake.

She is also only 4 points more expensive than the stempler, easier to hide with other useful pieces of kit so can be a meaningful upgrade if you don't need the bot for other reasons. I have been messing around with idea of running her in vanilla for sensor primarily and if needed dig out things that get too closer to my back line, or to go hunting in the late game.

FWIW I think this Data-set from CB probably also has the same inherit problem as the data cited earlier. It tells a different story than what's getting peddled in these forums. I'm still skeptical about even the relative accuracy because of chronic under reporting of lists in the US like I was before.

Are you still as confident in the previous data set now?

Because that’s what people at CanCon tell me Carlos seemed to say.

Also, amusingly, it actually supports the argument I was making: Tunguska does spike less highly in usage rates than most of the new sectorials like IA, OSS and VIRD.

It looks like more total games than could be played in a year at Satellite events though.

Edit: Maybe not now that I rethink it... 5 round Rumble with 130 would have been 650 games total, add that to the others and Interplanetary.. yeah maybe it works.
