Another stealth buff to Bolts: The characters this sectorial hinges upon can all be fairly easily dumpstered by Viral. Might actually be worth bringing a Bolt Spitfire by itself against Haqq, Tohaa or anywhere else Viral Snipers/Rifles/Mines may be found, since you can bet they'll be gunning for your MOBA lineup and fighting off those specific threats is what Bolts were built to do.
That's one goal of CB with this NA2 stuff. To sell/bring to the table units you normally are not seeing.
Nobody mentioned them cause the sculpts are old and imo ugly. Wanted to play them in my Nomads but found never the mood to buy them. And proxies are hard to find for them too.
Oh yeah, because we desperately needed another version of FD! What exactly has FD in there, aside from Bolts with Bravery? If they made a skill based around that and the only affected unit would be due to ITS ruling and not a basic rule, it's kind of a bad rule. And a sign that Bravery is here to stay as a permanent hotfix rather than buffs applied to units that need them (because Marauders and Grunts certainly didn't need that boost and stuff like Prowlers is left out anyway). I realized Strategic Deployment might be a form of FD in itself, so Hannibal could grant that ability to everyone.
@MikeTheScrivener I get that she herself is more durable, is just that when i think of the Uberfall fighting she is always on the other side of the building or just inside the cloud and send the pupps to ones fighting (and probably loosing one on the approach). I get that other people can make her work, i just cant imagine myself how and not finding someone doing it better or for cheaper. @Ben Kenobi Feel you here, but dont badmouth the Ram, that one does look good, lets hope for a re-sculpt. @SmaggTheSmug there is a new video out, a batrep, 2 members of Hannibal link did deploy outside of the DZ...... so yea, FD2 Bolts.
And there's no telling what other changes might happen here. In general I was thinking for a long time that with Spitfire, Drop Bears, E/M Grenades and shotguns everywhere Bolts would work awesome as midfield operators. They just needed a skill to get there. I wouldn't mind seeing their heavy weapons changed to reflect that, but even these have their uses. Imagine sticking them on one flank, quickly reaching enemy DZ, and shooting alongside lateral axis of the table. That could be fun.
Maybe the Bolts recive "Mechanized Deployment", if they are really the "bad guys" who love be in the battle the firsts... Make sense to me.
For sure, even Señor Massacre more for less can fulfill the same role as Valk. FC has multiple "Rampage" units, Valk is just the most resilient, and I value that highly in my play style. It meshes well with what I want my rampage unit to do – which is vacuum up as much of my opponents orders/time/troopers as possible, otherwise she's going to get in the back line and wreak havoc on their support units. Uberfall does this job reasonably well but always has that chance of dying or becoming hamstrung by a lucky crit or a mine or a TO guy, or your opponent just getting a decent roll with one of their line troopers. Valk isn't weak to these things.
Yep, i`m always of the "try to not get hit" persuasion, but with a 6-4 move its not that strange to imagine geting LoF with a TO in the second part of the move. Will have to learn to classically warband i guess
Heh, I just noticed that Valkyrie hits almost as hard as Ajax when it comes to CC. Berserk+NBW is a nasty combination. She's less durable, but has only -1 CC and -2 PH.
Well, for the Valk-v-Uberfall question, my answer is "por que no los dos?" Valk on one flank, Uberfall on the other! Or run them together, if you're feeling evil, since most of the answers to an Uberfall don't work (or don't work anywhere near as well) on Valk. The Uberfall model is definitely dated (N2's 'true 28mm' era, so very small compared to today's models), and is a pain in the ass to build, too. I think your best proxy options aren't even CB models at this point. And honestly, I don't have a problem with that. Especially the 'bring to the table' part of things.
