Defensive list / Vanilla

    We had a big tournament a month ago and I ended up playing my first list 5 time out of 5 with 5 wins.

    It was a team event (3 player per team).

    Mission were Supply, Mindwipe, Power Pack, Running Antennae (a homebrew mission, you had to be in ZoC of antenna to control them, point given at the end of each player turn) and Unmasking (modified, with one of the decoy beeing overpowered)

    I played second in all missions. I tried to get to choose my side of the table as much as possible so I could find the perfect spots for my defensive troopers.

    The lieutenant hide as a third Barid.

    Rafiq/Tuareg/Al hawa are here to do the objectives.
    Special mention to the Tuareg who was able to heal a lot of trooper including Armand (three time in one game) and even some Daylami. Her nasmat is very usefull (event if it inform my oponent that I have a Tuareg hidden somewhere)

    Sunduqbut is a such a good defensive trooper that my opponent simply avoided him most of the time
    Armand can take advantage of any long LoF (when shot at more than 80cm he is a pain in the ass), MSV1 make him a pain to all warband. He was my last piece in 4 game out of 5 and my opponent never saw him coming.

    Daylami, libertos and Nadhir are here to die heroicaly. Special mention to the forward observer of the Nadhir who is a good way to economize amunition on the flamenspear

    The addition of the Sunduqbut has been very nice for Haqqislam. Having the a hidden hard ARO has opened up a new dynamic for the whole faction. The fact that we havr access to both regular or Neurocinetics versions is great for the mind game as well.

    Yeah when it comes to ARO I feel like Haqq does it best. Large amounts of camo with strong ARO weapons on cheap profiles combined with a mix of your usual hard AROs makes it really fun to make a puzzle for your opponent to have to solve. The biggest weakness of ARO is that your opponent gets to pick the engagements and while they still do they often don't know what they are engaging or the best range bands to do it until you activate.
