Man, such good advice all around!

I ran a lone Spitfire Grrl not too long ago and she performed spectacularly well, so I can see a link working very well.

@inane.imp Is the TR remote that good offensively? I was under the impression it was mainly a defensive static piece. Swapping the ML for a Spitfire seems to be vommon consensus as well, and that's probably the right idea given I already have the TR and Sniper as defensive pieces, giving the Grrl a purpose in frontlining.
The list itself was not built with any mission in mind, but I generally go for strong defense and midfield control with one or two offensive pieces to push through enemy openings.

@HarlequinOfDeath That list looks real tight! I never really tried the Mod Pitcher as I always though the SWC was kind of prohibiting. The first combat group eapecially looks absolutely solid.
I'm not too sold on the Transductors though. But that could be because I never tried them as I don't have their models. I'd probably swap them and one Zondbot for another Zero!

@Tristan228 I will do so! Recently I've been running a lone Taskmaster as main attack piece, but I got curious seeing three-man links of Grrls and thought to swap him out for one such link alongside my usual 5man-Modlink. And yeah, there needs to be some moving about, I didn't spend too much time thinking of the Combat Groups.
As a general rule of thumb, if I have for example 16 models, is it smarter to split them 8/8 or 10/6? And for 14, 7/7 or 10/4. And where should the Morlocks go in such a situation?

@Solar Yeah, tell me about it. My friend made that very clear with a Heavy Rocket Launcher not too long ago. I think I'm starting to get a grip on it since then.

    Edit:
Tossed this together. Still not 100% sure of the Combat Group lineups, but unit-wise I think I'm pretty happy.

@Herr Hörn I would even go for a Clockmaker instead of the Flash Pulse Drones maybe. You want to repair that Reaction Zond or Riot Grrls in Isolated.

If you want to play the Transductor try this list. Played it with some small changes on various tournaments with success:

HMG is a good weapon. The TR is a relatively good trooper to carry it. BS11, no ARM but costing 26 Pts and 1 SWC unlike Moira/Taskmaster. More to the point though, you can buff him with Marksmanship L2 (shock and ignore cover MOD), he's faster MOV 6-4, and depending on your table the Climbing Plus could be helpful.

A TR drone can be a monster. Most often the enemy has to avoid it in active turn or spend more than one order to kill it. But dead is not dead since it has more unconscious states.

I love to play two of them and many opponents are suprised when I buff them with Marksmanship L2 and move forward being offensive. With Climbing Plus you can get in very good flanking positions.

I would even say they are stronger in active turn than in ARO.

I'm thinking about using the following list for more serious games:

I've noticed E/M ammo really screws HIs, so I figured the clockmaker is extremely necessary if you run 5 riots. What is making me twist my nose at it is:

    a) Only one camo token.
    b) Only one morlock

I think it's usable, but I'm not sure how much the weaknesses above might influence the gameplay

Hm, would you consider the Daktari too important to drop then? Personally with that list I might drop the Daktari and Zondbot in favor of either a Zero, or just the Dak in favor of two additional Morlocks.

When I play a list that's all about some expensive models, I want to use them as much as possible. And every time I put I riot link in the table one or two of them get knocked unconscious, so being able to bring them back up and running is useful for me.

I'll try to get some games with that list and see if it is really a big deal or not.

Especially with a ML Grrl the difference between a doctor and not is both significant and it comes up often.

This might sound weird, but when I look at that list I feel like the real dogs are the Custodier and the Reaktion Zond.

Really, it's all about the custodier.
    • It's not useful that she's a specialist, because you have four other specialists who are all faster.
    • It's not useful that she has white noise, because your Riots can't benefit. The Reaktion Zond can, but it doesn't need to, because you don't have any urgent need to beat MSV.
    • If you use a hacker in the active turn, it will be the KHD. She is not a go-to offensive hacker.
So, you're left with 14 WIP as the clearest reason to have her in this list. She's by no means bad, but not too efficient.

If you knock the custodier out of the roster, the RZ has to follow. That leaves room for a Taskmaster LT... I'm dreaming a bit here, but you could drop to one group and have a really thick list.

Finally, an engineer is really important any time you run a bunch of HI. To me, a bunch of wounded riot girls all over the board is a feature, not a bug - they are time consuming to kill and hopefully I won in the meantime. Isolated and immobilized is a lot less romantic.

Okay, I have a problem with the taskmaster lieutenant. And the problem is: She never stays alive. Never, as in all the 10 games I tried a taskmaster LT, mine died somewhere betwen first and second turn because my oponent hunts her down like she's the biggest target in the table.

Usually I have no problem losing a heavy model in the first turn, especially not when it falls behind cover and I can just doctor it back up. But when said model is the Lieutenant, that means my next turn will be a clusterfuck of irregular orders and my game will be severely stalled.

Conversely, with a Custodier lieutenant, the only time in 6-7 games I had her die was when I set her on supressive fire overlooking an acess point and my oponent critted her with a rocket launcher. So at least from my POV the custodier is a better LT option than the Taskmaster.

I do think going for one group can be easy when you have a HI link, but I'm not sure if I'd take the Custodier out for that.

That sounds really weird to me. Part of the reason I recommended the TM was to guard against assassinations like that.

People don't make runs at my Custodier often, but when they do it gets really scary. All it takes is one flamethrower down an open lane (and with only ten models, it's inevitable) and suddenly the game rides on a coin flip.

I don't feel like the taskmaster has that fear in this list. I envisioned it holding a flank and counterattacking to support the Riot Grrl push.

It doesn't make sense. But anecdotally, I'm FAR better at keeping my Custodier and Mod Lts alive than my Taskmasters.

Partly it's the size and partly I think it's because you WANT to use them and they're not fragile, so they get deployed slightly more aggressively. TMs also tend more often to be the only LT option in the list (whereas Custodiers quite often will see Kusanagi or a Mod as a potential decoy). This then gets exploited.

I think that you can control this by deliberately being aware of it, and then consciously taking steps to mitigate it.

I think it depends a lot on how agressive you play, as @inane.imp said. Most of the time I don't even decoy the custodier, just put her prone in a roof deep in my deployment zone, and if my oponent has anything that can reach out to her I cybermask. Sure, she can get punked by a flamer, but if a flamer gets that close to her the game is most likely already lost.

with the tasky... She wants to be in the middle of the table, taking shots and using all those weapons and skills to the max. That means she's going to die. Sooner or later, hopefully later, but she's going to die.

Strangely enough, when my tasky isn't the LT she usually lasts until the end of the game, but not without going into unconscious at least once.

If running a tm red fury, I usually let it hang back in suppressive fire while all the other mid field stuff Bakunin has access to does the leg work. I might take a short stroll out to murder warbands that get too close, but mainly I don’t go aggressive until turn three. Sometimes he starts in a smaller group where he helps fuel some morlocks and flips into the main group when they are all dead using free agent.

Hey Guys, time to dust this off!

Tomorrow will be my first game of Frostbyte. This led me to the conclusion that the Grrls might be my best option.
Now I'm indecisive whether I should try the classic Grrl squad (Spitfire + ML + 3) or if I send in the midfield monsters (basically lacking the ML).

So far I came up with this list:

    [IMG] Frost Grrls
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]9 [IMG]1 [IMG]1
    [IMG] CLOCKMAKER Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)

[IMG] RIOT GRRL MULTI Rifle, Stun Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 32)
[IMG] RIOT GRRL Boarding Shotgun, Stun Grenades + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 30)
[IMG] RIOT GRRL (Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle, Blitzen, Stun Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 30)
[IMG] RIOT GRRL Combi Rifle, Blitzen, Stun Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 29)
[IMG] VERTIGO ZOND Smart Missile Launcher / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 18)
[IMG] ZERO (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19)
    [IMG] ZONDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]4 [IMG]1
[IMG] DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
[IMG] MODERATOR Combi Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9)
[IMG] MODERATOR Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9)
[IMG] REAKTION ZOND HMG / Electric Pulse. (1 | 26)
[IMG] WARCOR (Aerocam) Flash Pulse / Stun Pistol, Knife. (0 | 3)
    [IMG] ZONDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)

The Grrls focus on rambling in the Exclusion Zone whilst the remotes try to keep the opponent's troops off the consoles if I have to go second.

EDIT: I did post the wrong list

Man, I played a LOT of Riot Grrl links in Kurage Crisis. This is the list I used for several missions in it, including frostbyte:

    [IMG] Jurisdictional Command of Bakunin
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]10
[IMG] TASKMASTER Lieutenant Red Fury, Pulzar, CrazyKoalas + TinBot A (Deflector L1) / Heavy Pistol, DA CCW. (1 | 53)
[IMG] KUSANAGI Spitfire / Pistol, Shock CCW. (2 | 43)
[IMG] REVEREND CUSTODIER Hacker (Assault Device Plus UPGRADE: Icebreaker) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 30)
[IMG] REVEREND HEALER Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, EXP CCW. (0 | 32)
[IMG] ZERO Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21)
[IMG] DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
    [IMG] ZONDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
[IMG] RIOT GRRL Boarding Shotgun, Stun Grenades + TinBot B (Deflector L2) / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 30)
[IMG] RIOT GRRL Spitfire / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 34)
[IMG] RIOT GRRL MULTI Rifle, Stun Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 32)
[IMG] SALYUT (Minesweeper, Repeater) Electric Pulse. (0 | 8)

Choose Kusanagi as a Data Tracker for that extra order, then go nuts. Usually I send the 3 Lady riot team up a flank where they proceed to totally butcher anything that's not a TAG that stands in their way. And even a TAG is going down when that MULTI Rifle gets close enough.

And now in Season 10 the holy trinity is as good as infiltrating models in this mission. I like the Tohaa styled linkteam composition but didn't you miss some long range weaponry?

There was one match against Ariadna where a duo of Spetnaz+Cateran gave me one hell of a hard time, but I managed to punch through and once they were down the rest of the army quickly fell through.

For missions like Frostbyte, most of the action happens in the middle of the table anyways, and now Kusanagi can start on the Spitfire's good range already. In fact, unless your opponent deploys very further back and you deploy very further back, it's quite easy to be on the spitfire's good range with only 1 mov. And if you think you're on the bad range, Riot grrls dodge on a 16.
