Dropping into Deadly Dance Mission tonight. Since I'm such a new player, I've played only a handful of missions, and this one is a new one. Here is my list for it: Deadly Dance ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 1 3 ONIWABAN Submachine Gun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Monofilament CCW. (0.5 | 24) 4 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army Right out of the chute, I don't own a TAG, nor Baggage Bot. I thought the Oniwaban could go in and kill his hackers. Yojimbo would be the Data Tracker, I realize he's going to be a huge target, and will more than likely die if I have to go second. Is Oyama a mistake as the LT? Should I jostle stuff around and put Kuroshi Rider in there? I thought about bringing another bike/hacker, but they are pretty fragile. Any tips or tricks for this mission? It sounds somewhat tricky. Domo Arigato
Hello, Yojimbo cant be your datatracker because he is Irregular. Oyama is a good choise as LT but he will be a clear call for you oppenent if he comes for LT hunting. In this type of mission you may also consider the Oniwaban as your LT considering you may need many orders to get in cc with the enemy tag and kill it.
Thanks. I didn't know that about Yojimbo and data tracking. I wanted to get smoke in there, and thought he was fast, and would be good. I'll switch to another team member, but I'llleave him in for the smoke cover, and hopefully wreak havoc. I've heard that Oniwaban can put a TAG down, if I TAG hunt with him, and he's my LT would that be his sole purpose of this scenario? Kill the TAG, and then probably die? I can shift Ryuken 9 or the ninja to the first group for that 10th order if need be? I feel like the biggest unsure is the Miyamoto Tanko team, and they're mostly in there smash face, and look really cool(the tankos look so damn cool).
Remember that if you use an Oniwaban as your Lt and you're going first, he can't start the game in Hidden Deployment or you'll be in Loss of Lieutenant. If you go second, you do have an opportunity to start with him in HD, but you'll need to bring him on the table with an ARO before your turn to avoid LoL.
If I have the Chain of Command Kempetai, will it still count as LoL, or will the Kempetai just run the show? Perhaps Oyama is the best choice in the matchup, I really don't want to expose the Oniwaban right away, especially if I'm dropping mines with Oda and Ryuken 9. :/
Note that Chain of Command only takes effect if your Lieutenant enters into a Null State; that's the specific trigger that allows CoC to work. So if your LT is merely in Hidden Deployment, or (for other armies) hanging out off table as an Airborne Deployment trooper, then he's not in a Null State. So CoC doesn't help you. A bit confusing, but pretty straightforward once you wrap your head around it. So the Oniwaban LT really does two things: you go first with him and have a possible 11 (or 9) Orders to spend, or you hide him in your backfield for missions that require LT killing, where the Oniwaban is almost immune to being hunted. As far as this mission goes, you're on the right track with being ready to hunt TAGs. Nothing wrong there. Fielding your own TAG is helpful, but not mandatory. As far as the other bits, i feel like you're stretched a bit then here. If you're going to go for 10-12 Orders, i feel like you might as well take the full Domaru/Tanko link, or else drop a body or two to buff up to a strong 15 or 16 Orders. 12 Orders is kind of a tough place to be, because your second Group doesn't have enough Orders to do anything, but your opponent can still steal 2 of your Orders if you go first and make your Turn 1 pretty weak.
