No, they alter the Unconscious state. The Unconscious state of troopers using the Special Skill Dogged has the following special rules: Instead of placing an Unconscious Marker next to the trooper, place a V2 Marker. The Unconscious state of troopers using the Special Skill No Wound Incapacitation has the following special rules: Instead of placing an Unconscious Marker next to the trooper, place a V3: NWI Marker. That's why Coup de Grace specifies that the target must have an Unconscious marker next to it, so that it can't be used against someone using NWI. I strongly suggest that the Classified is played the same way as Coup de Grace.
Did you not read the rules quotes? A trooper in Dogged or NWI state is explicitly in the Unconscious state.
Yes and no. They are a type of unconscious state but are not ‘the Unconscious state’. So if the rules say ‘becomes unconscious’ or similar then NWI/Dogged are valid outcomes (see Maestro). On the other hand if the rules say ‘the Unconscious state’ or mention ‘an Unconscious marker’ then they refer to Unconscious specifically not the generic situation. Edit: and clearly In Extremis Recovery affects the target trooper so would trigger a FTF, any other interpretation is patently ridiculous to my thinking.
Not quite. Dogged and NWI are triggered when 'The trooper entered the Unconscious state' so anything that put the trooper in Unconscious will allow the trooper to go Dogged/NWI. To repeat, a trooper in Dogged/NWI state IS also in Unconscious state, and anything that applies to Unconscious will apply to them unless mentioned in Dogged/NWI. Again, Coup de Grâce requires 'an Unconscious enemy (marked by an Unconscious or Spawn-Embryo Marker).' not just an Unconscious trooper, and was written that way specifically because of Dogged/NWI. If you play In Extremis Recovery like this as well, it solves any issues with FtF Rolls.
