Nah, @Mahtamori is correct, best use of an Impersonator is to shank the LT, forcing the opponent into Loss of LT in his first turn. Valid point, and thank you for the better target. OK, so let's roll that to Speculo v Achilles. You do need to go first for maximum effect of a LT assassination, so the LT WIP roll matters. I will still include the deploy-in-DZ roll, because we are going for worst-case-scenario, but I will also give results for not needing to deploy in DZ. LT WIP roll is still a roughly 50% thing, I think. Trying to figure out how to get the dice calc to do it for me. Still a 65% chance of succeeding in deploying in the opponent's DZ. If Jerkilles uses MA4, the Speculo has a 46.35% chance of success, if Jerkilles uses MA3 the Speculo has a 35.95% chance of success. If you need to deploy in DZ: .50*.65*.4635 = 14% chance of success if Jerkilles uses MA4 .50*.65*.3595 = 11.7%% chance of success if Jerkilles uses MA3 If you can avoid deploying in DZ: .5*.4635 = 23.2% chance of success if Jerkilles uses MA4 .5*.3595 = 18% chance of success if Jerkilles uses MA3 So no better than about 25% chance of success.
You never roll with the Speculo. If you go first, you can guarantee an enemy big guy's death, and if you go second you can force the enemy's turn around your roadbump. No, you move 4-4 first and ignore the first discover roll, you do not care about that. It is possible for you to reach total cover by doing so, and drop smoke over the target, so 4 orders place your melee "not specialist, but not bad" (Melee 20, AM3) trooper making a Surprise Attack (-6-3 = -9) against a desired target, and if you roll a 20 in 1d20+3 its a total crit=> remove the target entirely. So an alpha strike is more than possible, and the bigger, less melee-oriented the target, the better. The O-Yoroi is the worst idea to hunt, because the Crazy Koalas will Impulse and kill the Speculo (2 shock impacts!). Achilles is a fair target that is, as well, one of the hardest: you can get him with -6 from the Surprise attack, meanign he goes at 17 or so against your 20... and it's a fair chance the opponent will attempt to go for B2 in melee, so it would be 23 Vs 14&14 (which is a trap, unless the Speculo has been shot by other models, because a 20% crit chance plus 15% over you is very bad). The best target is a "normal" expensive TAG like the Jotum... the odds are so stacked in favour of the speculo, the Jotum's player is more likely to use the Flamethrower than attempting to shoot or punch at 9, and trust to survive the ARM 12 roll (unless, again, there are more enemy troops shooting at the Speculo). And of course, knowing you face Vanilla CA or Shasvastii means deploying with the assumption of one or two Speculo killes in front of you... The Fiday can do that too, and the new Spiral IMP, or even the infiltrators and AD troopers can do it. Realiably removing a multiwound model in a single hit, however... Achilles 15 Vs the "actual standard" of Shas 13 => 10% better odds for Aleph's posterboy (he is the Lt, after all!!). Remember, however, there will be a sukras (Biometric 2 + BSG) or Myrmidon Officer in this scenario. I'd say it's a single Melee Roll of Melee 20 Vs Melee 23, though... 5% of "remove Achilles", that is great in itself.
I have been wondering the same. It's been March 27th for nearly 21 hours where live. And I must say that it has been a long day checking for the update every couple of hours or so just on the off chance it goes live early.
One work around could be to do Hacking (Spotlight) with +3 MOD and the Reset with the other. Otherwise Custom Weapon FO and then manually account for stuff like ODD. The dice roller doesn't care about whether Forward Observer or Spotlight is actually legally declarable in ARO, after all, nor does it care if the target is legally eligible for the state that the effect causes or not. Spoiler: Not that I think Achilles would be LT http://inf-dice.ghostlords.com/n3/?p1.faction=Combined+Army&p1.unit=Malignos&p1.w_type=W&p1.type=SK&p1.cc=13&p1.bs=12&p1.ph=12&p1.wip=14&p1.arm=1&p1.bts=3&p1.w=1&p1.w_taken=0&p1.shasvastii=1&p1.symbiont=0&p1.operator=0&p1.immunity=&p1.hyperdynamics=0&p1.ikohl=0&p1.ch=-6&p1.msv=0&p1.marksmanship=0&p1.xvisor=0&p1.fatality=0&p1.full_auto=0&p1.surprise=1&p1.action=hack&p1.stat=BS&p1.ammo=FO&p1.b=1&p1.dam=PH-2&p1.range=--&p1.link=0&p1.viz=0&p1.ma=0&p1.guard=0&p1.protheion=0&p1.nbw=0&p1.gang_up=0&p1.coordinated=0&p1.surprise_attack=1&p1.hacker=EI+Assault+Hacking+Device&p1.hack_program=Spotlight&p1.hack_b=1&p1.firewall=3&p1.misc_mod=+3&p2.faction=Aleph&p2.unit=Achilles&p2.w_type=W&p2.type=HI&p2.cc=24&p2.bs=15&p2.ph=15&p2.wip=15&p2.arm=4&p2.bts=6&p2.w=3&p2.w_taken=0&p2.symbiont=0&p2.operator=0&p2.immunity=&p2.hyperdynamics=0&p2.ikohl=0&p2.ch=-6&p2.msv=0&p2.marksmanship=0&p2.xvisor=0&p2.fatality=0&p2.full_auto=0&p2.surprise=0&p2.action=reset&p2.stat=BS&p2.ammo=FO&p2.b=1&p2.dam=13&p2.range=--&p2.link=0&p2.viz=0&p2.ma=0&p2.guard=0&p2.protheion=0&p2.nbw=0&p2.gang_up=0&p2.coordinated=0&p2.cover=3&p2.misc_mod=0
Well, looks like we can expect "Monstruckers" likely to be thrown into USARF whenever they decide to update them.
Seems so, but the Wiki isn't updated yet, so can't be sure. And all Symbiomate covered dudes immune to everything else but Fire.
Total Immunity doesn’t work against non-lethal ammo. The examples in the PDF is Adhesive and Forward Observer. I’m having a hard time finding the non-lethal ammo tags. I guess they’re on the weapons instead of the ammunition entries?
Then read the rule in the box again. It seems that they indeed made dogos immune to Flash/Stun because those attacks: a) are using special ammo b) forces BTS check (which dogos ignore due to Totall Immunity)
We don't know how Total Immunity works now. We were told they are removing all interactions and exceptions to make it work like the name implies and they moved vulnerabilities to a separate skill. Thus, from the Doge being Total Immune and Vulnerable (Viral), we can assume the immunity is actually total, with that one exception. Since Flash is an ammo type, if the above holds it's fairly safe to assume Doge will be immune to it.
Erm did they rework Fatality somehow? Tarik Wildcard rolling half a crit on average per Order is stupid enough, but this seems a bit broken. 2nd Wound so she isn't scared about Shock anymore is a good change, but who thought it would be a good idea to give her FAT2 for free? Same problem as with Tarik, 0.5 crits per B5 burst, increased to 0.75 crits against targets if she gets up to 21. Thanks the the longer -3 rangebands you just... point and click. Guess CB really doesn't want us to run TAGs anymore. Or defensive LI Links.... Speculo Minelayer, screw Fireteams in deployment. Cool beans.
