I played against WB on the weekend with my Starmada. He had the Haetae in a haris though he could have done a core. The Dokkaebi was also in the haris. The Dok BS11 was a little bit of an issue. Managed to get one of two it’s pitchers down. He also forgot to have his baggage bot close to get more. The HT was able to kill only one of my troops with spotlight because I knew it was coming and spaced troops out accordingly. Something that came into use very well for him was the Assault pistol later on. Unfortunately, that’s all I can remember him using. They seemed to work really well though.
Solo Mk12 Dokibot is cool. In vanilla, it's a new premier specialist for the faction. Thinking about White Banner, while it can definitely benefit from fireteam support (tinbot, sixth sense, burst bonus), I'm of the mind that it should be built into a team with the consideration that it will eventually want to wander off on its own.
My thinking for excluding Dokkaebi from the link is more about available link slots because I dont want it in the same link as the Haetae. You only have one Haris so if you want to link both the Haetae and the Dokkaebi then one must be in a core (even if thats a core of less than 5) so in effect you end up with 2 3 mank links of jujak/ye mao one with Dokkaebi and one with Haetae and zero other links.
No it's not. If you pull it out of the fireteam it loses the guarantee on the firewall. If you make it pop out to take potshots with spotlight, it becomes vulnerable to just getting picked off by basic Trinity. The Tinbot is what takes it from 45-50% to take wounds off Trinity to <20%. That takes it from a reasonably free kill to a non viable attack vector when it's averaging 10+ orders just to get the damn thing unconscious and not even off the table. Secondly this is just a daft line of thinking. You've committed to putting a Haetae in your list, this means you've now committed to providing support to it. So now we're already looking at options like Engineers, NCO, and Tinbots to make sure your big guy with big gun actually gets to function. The logical place to place a multiwound high end hacker is with the Haetae. All the support that helps the Haetae helps the Dokkaebi and the presence of Nomad tier bullshit hackers with tinbots helps draw fire away from your army's primary attacker in the event they decide infowar is a good idea (spoiler alert, it's not). This doesn't just go for the Haetae. If you are bringing a high value big HI gun, like Shang Ji, the best place for the Dokkaebi is right in the same fireteam where all the support they benefit from is. Splitting them up is just giving an opportunity for your opponent to freely punish you via offensive infowar and pick off a part of your army with little risk.
