No idea. I probably wouldn't use Geckos without them. I bet at least the pilots would stay, that could be enough to make them worth it.
My local Warcor says 'Yes'. But he is a bit biased on this one. I would be surprised if they didn't keep them: it's been highly successful and well received.
I am very certain that pilots and pilot rules are not affected by the ITS seasons, unless the next season rules plan to overwrite them. The Ironclad rule(FAT1), however, is part of ITS 9 rules so I don't know.
Tagline is already done, it was last season. The pilot rules have stayed as part of Army/the wiki. Fatality lvl 1 was introduced as part of the current season (Treason), I imagine it will continue after this season unless it proves unbalancing.
Wildcats need AVA 6 and that stupid SWC tax dropped. They used to be the cat's meow but power creep has gotten so out of control recently that the double-Intruder HMG plus double-HRL disposible wildcat link that CB feared so much is no longer a valid concern with all the crazy crap running around the table these days. EDIT: And if they don't want to drop the SWC tax, a special character lieutenant with -1 SWC would be acceptable.
Corregidor real problem is non useful additional AVA of some troops. Why you need AVA5 Hellcats? AVA 4 Tomcats? AVA 5 Intruders? Thats a problem, because you won't use more then 2 of each. Recent Starco put more nails into Corregidor coffin anyway.
The idea was that using a command token to deploy up to 4 AD troops would let you use the surplus 3 orders, since with that it is possible to get a use from them. Right now, its a "heck no" option because until you deploy those cats, you don't have their orders and the group has a glaring hole... and deploying them on a secondary group means, at least, that they are totally vulnerable. using the coordinated order so that one takes the hit for the other 2-3... assuming no dispersion nor several enemy ARO. And the building's size, too. CB's scenography not having space for the circular template (thus preventing AD troops to land there), plus all the detais on most bought buldings means that, well, even hellcats enter by the side of the table. Dunno. I don't think Ironclad is the defining rule that makes TAGs to be used this season, however, but the extension of "no taking 2 orders from you if you go first and have a single combat group" to all games (Limited Insertion just removes the Strategic use of Command Tokens), so only Biotechvore places 10 order lists of non-sectorials at a disadvantage.
I'm not trying to argue I just still don't see the point. Why not just take 2 non AD guys if what you want is the orders. What is the effective difference between 3 Hellcats dropped and all the orders pumped in to one compared to just 1 Hellcat with 2 Jaguars giving it orders? Isn't it the same result?
Improving corregidor would probably improve purchases for StarCo. I honestly don't know how it can be improved. I think if wildcats went to AVA 6+, they would nerf the 13 BS provided. My wish for corregidor would be to add something to mobile brigada that bring them up to the utility of Riot Grrls without eclipsing Riot Grrls.
Can we get away from Riot Grrls being the standard to be aimed for. They're a stupidly strong link. I'd argue they're amongst the best links in the game.
Buff Prowlers to be on par with Bandits please. :P My point regarding Grrls is that they're actually too strong and could do with a nerf. But I'm weird in that I think the way to deal with power creep is to resist it, not embrace it. OTOH I do agree Brigada could do with some love. I just don't think the end point should be 'as good as Grrls' (if you're not running them, you should ask yourself why not). I'd settle for 'competitive in the right mission / set of missions in a tournie'.
Don't tell me how to play my secondary army. If I want to run full AVA of Hellcats, Tomcats, or Intruders I will do it and be entertained the entire time.
Prowlers still seem wank to me. The costing is so weird. Like, what's the cost of the Boarding Shotgun one? 31pts? A Spektr BSg is cheaper, has superior AP Mines instead of D-Charges and Grenades, and is cheaper! Alright the Prowler has ARM 2 and Bioimmunity, but the Spektr has BTS 3 and, oh yeah, vastly stronger TO Camo compared to Camo. Oh yeah, and isn't 4-2 either! If there's one Nomad troop that needs redoing, it's the Prowler. The only one that's even close to good is the Spitfire, and even that's really SWC expensive.
