[Corregidor]Need help with my list

I think your links are a little bit of a mess. I honestly don't think the Alg link actually gives you anything: you don't have the repeaters to make use of the Hacker. And honestly, if someone tries to possess one of your TAGs: good on them, they probably just wasted a lot of orders. Undo it as soon as you can spend a command token.

Geckos + Intruders + Massacre Haris in the same list is a fun idea.

I'd tend to run that like this:

You're a little reliant on Gecko pilots as specialists (I find they do perfectly fine at that job). You can swap the Wildcat for a Daktari with 2 x Zondbots (but that makes your LT obvious).

I generally find that if you have 2 obvious LT options it dissuades people from actively hunting them too much. In the other list Intruder Lts tend to be survivable enough to be obvious. The marker state goes a long way to making it difficult to hunt them.

It is light on with specialists. I'd run it in a mission where specialists didn't matter: not every list needs to be good at all missions. The biggest issue is range: if a lucky crit takes down your Intruder MSR then you've got very little that can fight at range.

BUT I probably wouldn't start Corregidor with those lists. They're a little off piste. Absolutely playable and very fun, but yeah not what I'd call 'beginner friendly'. That being said I'm not the person to talk to about starting Corregidor fresh (I came to it from playing a lot of Bakunin): @loricus , help please :)

 

I think that having a Massacre link and 2 Geckos in the same list is an extremely fun idea.

Long range guns are usually HMGs and MSRs. They're not strictly necessary in a list, but if you don't have them you need to find some other way of suppressing your opponent's long-ragne AROs so you can advance into your optimal weapon range: Massacre+Jags have smoke to help with this.

I absolutely think it's a playable concept (I may steal it). It just strikes me as having a few holes.

If I was playing 'starting Corregidor', I'd probably run an Alg Core (5 Algs) with a Bandit, Intruder, Moran, Daktari and some AD. I'd probably run either an Intruder or MB Lt. Mainly because that does a lot of 'core Corregidor' gameplay and is a solid place to build from. BUT ultimately with Infinity a lot of it is about finding your own style and what works for you.

It's also easier to build as an Escalation list: which is often how I think of 'starting' factions. Mainly because my meta runs a Slow Grow League as a way to encourage people to try new / different factions.

Escalation League is a type of ITS play-style, you start at 125pts and expand to 300/400 in ~50pt increments.

Honestly, run what you think is cool. Pretty much everything in Infinity is playable (it just can be a little bit more of a challenge).

I'm just saying how I'd probably start Corregidor if I was doing it from scratch. Defensive Fireteams are also 'easy-mode' for link management compared with an active Fireteam; so, personally I'd start there.

But it's not an 'either/or' problem: there's no reason you can't run an Alg Core + Jag Haris AND a Gecko Duo + Jag Core/Haris. There's significant model overlap, and it will give you the opportunity to explore and find your own playstyle.

 

Geckos and a Massacre link sound fine together, but as they are both groups that want to step on toes the rest of your list will have a focus on preventing yourself from being pinned.

It will probably be based around which link wants to charge in first. Geckos can take objectives and become a distraction in suppression fire, then the Jaguars can hit them when they're overextended. Or the Jaguars can use their smoke to get to their strongest units so the Geckos don't have anything putting them in danger. Depends on your opponent.

I've done a similar thing with McMurrough but haven't gotten around to using linked Jags much. I do think they're our most competitive link.

I would use Alguacilles. You want to fill these links but you do not want all troops to be linked, so you need to make it to 2 useable Command Groups. An advantage to both Geckos and Jaguars is their low SWC.

Doesn't give much room for changing things up though. Points are pretty tight.

I would leave out the Brigada for now if you're playing Geckos. More importantly they come in the 300 point pack so you can get a good deal on them that way. Lunakhod gives you a lot more list building flexibility.

 

The 300pt box makes a great 'expansion' set after you've got your core. It's less useful as a 'first wave' purchase, but they're all solid units to expand what you've started with.

From the POV of value for money as a 'start collecting' set this is solid (it's Geckos + Starter + WIldcart HRL and Wildcat Spitfire blisters). If you add Algs + Jags + Massacre + Support box to you've got the vast majority of list archetypes covered.
