Sval units, been running Fusiliers, Rems, Order sergeants, Hospitallers, Nisse and Jotum lists. You can get a fair bit of flex in there and make some interesting lists that arent just mans spam. but it is hard. Though it has led me to somewhat appreciate the TO order sergeants even in vanilla, they effectively trade pts for SWC at 27 pts 1SWC and 33 pts 2 SWC which can lead to some interesting combos.
Someone in the YJ threads mused on the possibility on a joint Sval/WB sectorial. Joining forces when faced with the CA threat, and so on. I actually like the idea. Would make for a really interestng army. But I think everyone would like to get separate sectorials first. Actually you can. Using XO would amount to the agent hijacking the mission, whether the grunts like it or not. As long as he has/appears to have authority from the higher up the squad can do little but suck it up and do as they're told, while hating Hexas more than before. It'd fit the fluff perfectly. "I'm in command now, soldier. This is my authorization. These are your objectives. Now get on with it, unless you want your Cube to explain to Command in virtual debriefing why the mission went FUBAR".
And perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but I felt that he was describing an eventual 2-player starter box where the two Svalheima forces would be fighting each other.
That was what it sounded like to me too. 'though we're far enough out from something like that for it to barely matter what ideas there are.
... what if I told you I've never put a Croc man on the table for precisely that reason Squeezing in a Warcor/Techbee or upgrading something into a Specialist tends to beat the need for SWC in my Vanilla lists. My only army with real SWC issues is SAA (in fact enough SWC issues to make up for the other PanO Sectorials). Also - you're a masochist for running only Sval Troops mate. Could at least allow yourself Auxilia instead of Auxbot Sergeants - but as long as you're having fun running uphill, in the very least you'll grow as a player. CBLs seem more fun than that (because Saito and stuff).
Giving CSU a Chain of Command skill would kill Bolts as a unit, probably with no hope for recover. Although, I like the idea of poverful corporate lobbies running the show this way. And I'll definitely like to see more CSU loadouts!
Especially given their high cost makes them crappy in terms of synergy with a Squalo and the other "aggressive Lt" options in NCA aren't exactly worth writing home about.
