You know, I do agree that mnemonica should ignore Isolation, if only to keep the aspects going and make them more fearsome. Also, I really, really want the Avatar to get NWI. Because as of now, it is actually easier to take down than most other TAGs, even with ODD, because of how mnemonica works. Avatar goes unconscious and BANG, it's dead.
Mnemonica is optional, so if you go down in your active turn you can choose to not activate it if you think you'll pass a repair roll.
I actually used this to my advantage last week during decapitation. My Avatar went down, but I didn't transfer LT (why would I in Decap), then I brought it back up in my turn for the win... well, I also had to kill Tariq by shooting him in the back with his brother in arms that recently saw the light of the EI.
Mocking someone jokingly is still mocking someone? You're not exactly gutiers biggest fan so Its actually a bit laughable you'd try play this off a some jovial ribbing. On topic: I'd love to have more reasons to field the aspects. They are my favorite part of CA and the other rabble that get in the way has been the main obstacle of me diving in (to my wallets relief)
I doubt the Aspects will find sectorial homes outside of the rumored/mentioned/planned EI/-dron sectorial.
I self reflect just fine. Joking that Gutier was a used car salesman in a past career is just silly. The fact that you think it's an insult is... strange. Unless you just operate on the framework of "Hecaton said it so it must be objectionable."
Ok please keep on the main thread and go having this conversation by PM we don’t care about your thought on other subject than « combine army in n4 » Please think about new comers watching this sterile borring debate that concern only 2/3 members and making borred all the others.
Aspects are supposed to be great and fearsome. While most of the time they are just another unit. Skiavoros Is just bad. 1 wound nwi strategos for 50-60 points? I can't see him playing any good. Charontids is an overpriced Asura without LT lvl 2. Anaphematics is ok... but if you have Sphinx why would you use him? Avatar is nice. Really nice. But 137 points and 3,5 SWC.
I respectfully disagree. While the aspects DO need a buff, they are not weak by any sense. Skiavoros gives you a good backline defender that can lock down a lane while giving your frontline models his lieutenant order; Charontids don't just get the MSV option, and the Hacker gets to run around with willpower 17 and a marker state, and it packs a plasma rifle, which is usually better than a MULTI. Anathematics gets to be a hacker, so it is a powerful specialist to the sphinx' linebreaker/ flanker use; The Avatar is stupidly powerful, rocking a BS15, DAM16 Shock HMG with -6 to hit and generating 3 orders all by itself. It is worth those 3,5 SWC; The big problem with aspects is they are not immune to isolation and that state is specially damaging to them because of the mnemonica rule forcing you to make some horrible decisions that may cost you the game. Each of them could be buffed just a bit and they'd become game changers. However, as they are right now they are not bad.
Hoping for some updates to the Skiavoros and Anathematics most of all - those guys haven't been touched since 2015. Btw, don't diss the Skia too hard. It's the original pseudo-HI. NWI and (functional) shock immunity from having STR, high stats, mimetism, good weapons, and immune to hacking. Park him in suppression fire somewhere and he's prone to dominating.
I was sad that the Skiavoro did not get the option for a hacker-lieutenant, but other than that I'm reasonably happy with the aspects as of HSN3.
I really like if Skiavoros have it a specialist Lt option or if mov 10-10 Charontid its ok Anathemtic maybe a little cheaper. Add a veteran l1 to all of them
Well, I can't come up with any strong and playable list on Avatar, because 5'point Muttawi can ruin them all. As for Charontids - I can make the very same list in Aleph or OSS and on paper they look better. Anaphematics is ok but still for so much points I'd better get 2-3 other models (Sheskiin, Mentor and Daturazi for example) About Skiavoros I can't say much because everytime I played him he did nothing but giving his order to the pool.
An Aeva list is specifically that a list built around an avatar, generally I don't leave home without a ball of warbands an a skirmish line, can't say my Wip 17 BTS 9 monster has ever been jammered, closest I've come was i over extended big style (as in an avatar stood alone inside my opponents DZ) in a refresher game and ended up in CC with a morlock (which I had to remove with a HMC). Sharon has a lot of versatility, as I posted above I think it could do with a buff to make it the tactical match or better of an Asura but as a HMG gun beast it's horrific, as a hacker LT it's horrific Annie (best girl) takes some getting used to but is an unstoppable beast of carnage and destruction when used correctly (as a plasma hacker Lt), I would like to see the mono CC back on all profiles and a CC boost all round great unit in a faction with so much white noise and albedo. (s)ki-ki (yeah that one is at best a tenuous female pet name, better suggestions welcome) I've had great success with Skios in the past but when Onyx came I tended to find more use in kornak or an Umbra, who offer comparable firepower, command abilities and survivability, but have better speed and CC. It's a perfectly servicable 2nd attack piece and command and control armature, it's also the only aspect I'd ever consider taking the sepsitor option. It's also had it's standing tarnished by the arrival of Kermit the frog (Kerr nau) who's a much cheaper competant plasma rifle with other versatility, vanilla or Onyx I don't think I'd leave home without him these days and he synergises with the annie or sharon (hackers) better than ski-ki.
Mutts aren't an issue for an Avatar list, because if you're taking an Avatar you're also taking an engineer and either Krakots or Daturazi - both of which are immune to jammers. Also, even if you aren't spending orders on the avatar you're still getting value out of the Speculo Killer that you perfectly depolyed due to strategos 3 - spending a turn shanking your opponent's main ARO piece and killing jammers with warbands is sill a turn well spent, and you can unleash the Avatar rush in the next turn.
I've seen mutts stop an avatar. ONCE. But this is a list I'd use if I was too worried about them: Combined Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 AVATAR Lieutenant (Strategos L3) MULTI HMG, Sepsitor Plus / DA CCW. (3.5 | 137) STALDRON Flash Pulse / Knife. (0 | 0) SPECULO KILLER Boarding Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Monofilament CCW, Knife. (1 | 34) KURGAT Boarding Shotgun, D-Charges, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 17) SLAVE DRONE Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) SHROUDED (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) ZERAT Hacker (EI Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) IKADRON (Baggage, Repeater) 2 Light Flamethrowers, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) R-DRONE Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) ÍMETRON . (0 | 4) ÍMETRON . (0 | 4) GROUP 2 2 2 DĀTURAZI Chain Rifle, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 14) DĀTURAZI Chain Rifle, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 14) 5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army You can use the speculo to clear out warbands or problematic ARO pieces, then advance unmolested with the A-Money
