Okay, help me out here, guys:

Yaokongs that have been released as part of Code One. Are these the same Yaokongs that, not too long ago, have been available for N3? Or have they been redesigned?

I'm staring at the photos and I'm really not sure there's a difference?

So this is a new design? They look similar, aside from the dated weapons...

More than a decade newer, the new ones are much more detailed CAD sculpts compared to the very old "traditional" sculpts in the old box.

Ah, I see that now. I missed that, because the design is quite similar. Meanwhile, the new versions of Haqq's and ALEPH's small remotes were completely different designs.

Out of curiosity - how does the rest of YJ's remotes (Yaopu, Yaoxie) stand? Any rumours of them getting replaced?

The baggage bots are CAD, good models, though I'm not a huge fan of the Aesthetic.

The Lu Duan/Rui Shi are either early CAD or very good late traditional sculpts, I like their looks but the little guns on the wings are an absolute rat-bastard to keep attached. I've been using a Rudras or Peacemaker as Yaoxie my JSA, though that's mainly because I already had them in my collection.

I doubt either are high on the list for resculpts.

I thing yaoxies are CAD also. Legs and main bodies are the same as baggage, it's heads and weapons that are different. Even wings for mounting weapons are the same for yaoxies and pangos.

    Thanks! That was most helpful.

BTW. Am I seeing things, or is there a new REM type in the Army that has no model so far..?

The yaofang long ya is new yes, the profiles were released with White Banner. We didn't see a concept yet though, and they're not in code one so probably low priority.

Yeah, that's the one. I also thought that Chaiyi is something new, but I realize now it's just a Yaokong.

... how do you guys remember all these names of remote variants? I stop at the nomenclature level of Yaokong / Yaoxie / Yaopu (or Rebot / Probot / Rudra, or Haqq Remote / Kameel). The variants I just call "HMG Yaokong" etc...

I've learned for my main faction and for PanO. When people look at me funny when I say "Weibing" I go "pathfinder, it's a pathfinder".

Yaokong, Dronbot and Copperbot are actually the last I memorise because it doesn't inform me of their stats or abilities at all.

I actually wish they had made common names for them. Chaiyi are "messenger remotes" and that's great, but since CB never made a cross-faction name for the FO-sensor-bots, they are now goofily "sensorbots" and Husong get to be "TR bots" which is confusing whenever someone brings a TR Combi baggage bot...

I'd find the fact that someone bought a TR baggage bot more confusing.

    Honestly, don't bother.

Call them "flash pulse bot", "TR Bot", "Forward observer bot", "missile bot".
No one cares for the names of the cross faction remotes but more what they are equipped with and what they do.

They're not terrible. Honestly, there's a lot of crap people bring more often for =<20 that's worse. Their fat... rucksacks... are hard to hide, though, so not appropriate for all tables as this is a unit that really wants specific LOFs.

    So, they aren't useful?

Oh, it's not like I'm losing sleep over not knowing these names. ;) I just noticed that many people here actually are able to remember them good enough to use in conversation.

One thing is very different fromt the old ones. The weapons. Not only that they are new versions, but also the different mountings. Old ones have the weapons down, near ground level and new ones have it on the top, left side - wich is better in my opinion. I am glad they only updated the design and not make completly new ones. Same for the new Pan O dronebots.

Its useful in Firefight to protect a good amount of your DZ, which is a dedicated landing zone...

The difference in the style of the older and newer version yaokongs just looks like someone upped the polygon counts on the resolutions.
You're playing with PS5 versions of them, not PS1 anymore.

I don't know for sure, but I've never taken one or faced one which can be a pretty good indication.
