Hi to the Nomads community. As for the title of this thread I was looking for a bit of advice, how to close up to 300 points the following Corregidor army list

    Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]7 [IMG]1 [IMG]1
ALGUACIL (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12)
ALGUACIL (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12)
ALGUACIL Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 10)
    DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
MOBILE BRIGADA Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 40)
    INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
McMURROUGH 2 Chain Rifles, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Templar CCW (AP + DA). (0 | 32)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]4
SEÑOR MASSACRE (Fireteam: Haris) Breaker Combi Rifle, E/M Grenades, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW, E/M CCW. (0.5 | 30)
JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
LUPE BALBOA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Panzerfaust, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 23)
    TOMCAT Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + 1 Zondcat / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26)
    [IMG] ZONDCAT Electric Pulse. (4)

    5.5 SWC | 273 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

I had a game, just last night, with a variant of it, having in one more Jaguar and one more Alguaciles and a Warcore for the 3 pts bargain that does seems to me, when there is no chance of fitting in some Morlocks.

    ...

I still have a lot to learn about the game, so currently it is most in regards of how to bring what I need where I need it, and try and found possible synergies between the different parts of the list.

I still find myself in a sort of struggle being able to get the most from the fireteams, and I guess that it is the bigger issue I came up with, yesterday. It is probably related to the wrong deployment I ended up with, still moving a 5 men unit around, it turns out not to be the simplest task ever.

Pretty much same having Senor Massacre having in his Haris, one panzerfaust. At first I tough it could help having that sort of range, but ending smoke and move most of the time, trying hide as much as possible during the reactive turn, ended up as a real struggle on how to find a use for it.

Those sort of thoughts and the fact that Mc Murrough, even being a beast of its own, it turns out being order hungry even over my initial expectations, leaving very few to be done for other models.

What I was currently looking for, would be directions on having the chance of bring one of the two groups to ten models, still keeping a use of the other models, more than what a cheerleader could be.

Toughs, impressions, suggestions and comments are all welcome :)

Here's close to what I would do. A few points left over but you can spend that on upgrades or a warcor or whatever. I like the lone alguacil with nothing to make it look like a Lt.

I didn't remove anything just moved and added 2 guys.

Intruders and Moran don't usually need many orders while the Haris does.

I'd do something like Loricus' suggestion.

Basically it allows you to manage what you're doing with your pools:

Group 1 powers either McMurder or the Massacre Haris. Late game the Tomcat can come on and stand up McMurder or win the game by doing something critical. The Alg Fireteam should be mostly static, but can/will probably be used in a pinch in T3.

Group 2 either powers the Intruder to kill something important or the Moran to push a button.

Literally the only change I'd make is to drop Massacre down to a BSG: this will free up 3 points and in a Massacre Haris with Lupe, Lupe is your main 8-16" gun.

With that 3 points you can grab an Alg or Jag. This can be added to either group 1 or 2. If it goes in group 1 it moves the Tomcat to group 2 (giving McMurder or the Haris more orders), whereas if it goes to group 2 it makes that group more resilient to order loss and allows your Intruder to be a little more mobile.

I'd err to group 2 as it likely hides the presence of your AD, and if you want it in group 1 late game that's an easy Command token use (particularly since Lupe and the Jag both have Dogged so will clear a space when they go down).

first of all, thanks to find the time to reply. has been really appreciated :)

I can totally understand the logic behind the different division of the two groups, compared to what I came up with, still I cannot totally get how or why having both the CC solution in one group could be of any help.

I do keep thinking that having the two of them in two different groups could be more beneficial, than not. In the end it will be the one or the other that will be moved around the table.

But having the two of you coming up with the same idea, makes me easily think I am missing something obvious.

I did modified the list, as for @inane.imp suggestions, as it was something I did figure out after the first game ( not sure why Massacre does have the option for a breaker rifle too, be honest ), and with the remaining points added one more alguacil and one more jaguar.

It does seems a bit slim, order wise, still having the chance to have a good amount of specialists, do give some reassurance.

not sure how good it could be the idea of not playning an hacker at all, but for the moment, as well as trying not to add any REM, it is something I would like to try and see if it could work.

    No Hacker CJC works well.

As to having both aggressive options in group 1. It shouldn’t be an issue. You’re likely to use them across alternative turns, for example:

    Turn 1:
You go first and your opponent strips McMurder’s group: so you have 7,1/4+1AD

You see a good path for McMurder, but he’ll need a little help. You opt not to use his Impetuous order because he’ll run into 2 AROs.

You spend an order on the Masscre Harris: this gets you B2 Smoke and covers McMurder vs the long ARO you were worried about and also covers the Intruder. 6,1/4+1

You spend an order on the Intruder, moving towards LOF of one of your opponent’s mid-ranged AROs that will slow McMurder down. 6,1/3+1

You spend an order on the Intruder and shoot through smoke at this ARO and move back out of LOF. You kill it. 6,1/2+1

You now have 7 orders on McMurder to cause havoc. You run him down a flanks and get in amongst some squishy specialists in your opponent’s backline. You leave him there, somewhere we’re the opponent needs to get close to deal with him. 0/2+1

With the remaining two orders you re-Camo your Intruder and put your Moran on Suppression.

In your opponent’s turn, he wastes a large number of orders putting McMurder down. The rest he spends putting your MB ML Unc and killing your Moran. Maybe he does something mission related as well.

This leaves you with 8/3+1. That’s 2 orders + a command token to heal the MB and stand him back up again, 6 orders through Massacres crew to get smoke down and do the mission, And 3 orders through either the Intruder or Tomcat (one option for which is standing McMurder back up and going hard with him again instead of the Haris).

Turn 3 you probably shift some things across into holes in group 1 (let’s assume the Tomcat and a Jag, because all you need the Intruder to do is Move+Shoot and then go on Suppression overlooking an objective). Hopefully you have some smoke left, because the Alg link can’t really fight its way forward (that’s fine... you really should be able to cover it’s advance) and you push it forward so you’re getting it’s points in a zone, maybe killing some things with the B2 BS16 ML.

All that being said though, it does kinda depend on what you want out of the Massacre Haris. If it’s primary purpose is to cover McMurder, deliver Lupe to an objective and then sit in the midfield making general dicks of themselves then they probably only need 5 orders for that. It results in a slightly less aggressive Haris, but will work well as a general smoke maker and specialist delivery group, with good counterattack/anti-midfield potential.

    So this could work:

    Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]9 [IMG]1 [IMG]1
ALGUACIL (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12)

ALGUACIL Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 10)
    ALGUACIL Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
    DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
MOBILE BRIGADA Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 40)
McMURROUGH 2 Chain Rifles, Grenades, Smoke Grenades / Templar CCW (AP + DA). (0 | 32)
MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
    TOMCAT Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + 1 Zondcat / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26)
    [IMG] ZONDCAT Electric Pulse. (4)
    INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]5
JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10)
LUPE BALBOA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Panzerfaust, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 23)
SEÑOR MASSACRE (Fireteam: Haris) Boarding Shotgun, E/M Grenades, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW, E/M CCW. (0.5 | 27)

There’s also a nasty trick if going first. Start with the Jag Core up, and drag all 5 members into the midfield. Then swap to the Alg Core (you can reform the Haris as well, but that’s not strictly necessary).

CC isn't so common as to stress about that. I like to keep an AD and a smoke thrower in each group so I can use either order pool for it. Different people have different priorities.
However you do have a Jaguar in group 2 if needed.

It's only good to drop for BSG if you have Lupe. I like to put Lupe in a duo with the Gecko or a Wildcat Haris, so it wouldn't always be possible for me. I would usually have a Daktari linked with the Jaguars instead, so I would use Breaker. Althou I haven't really used the Jag link.

I don't see why you need one. I usually only have an EVO to get Tsyklons and buff them (plus boosting Hellcats).

Hacker depends a lot on your meta. I see a fair amount of HI, TAGs and KHD specialists. In that context Sixth Sense HD/AHD + Morans are great, particularly when paired with a Bandit.

Not because you expect to actually be able to hack things though, but because it often denies a large part of the board to your opponent's heavy hitters.

It's one of the reasons that Jazz really appeals to me: Maestro gives her a resilience that means she isn't a natural weakpoint in the link and she opens up supportware, something I've always found difficult to include in CJC (compared to other Nomads) until recently.

Oh and the obvious thing that you're missing about @loricus and I coming up with the same idea is that we've been chatting about how to play Nomads for years at this point and have talked extensively about the benefits of the Intruder in the small order pool.

The Intruder gets his own small order pool not because he is a supporting actor but because he's a prema-donna that demanded a theatre be built around him.

When helping with lists all I do is move around the units they've already picked and possibly do a couple profile swaps based on models they must own. I base this on my experience of many games where I have remaining orders in a group that can't be used to accomplish anything, when the other group ran out. It's really just a starting point so your list is easier to play so you can figure out how you like to do things.

I did not expect such a deep lecture about how to implement the list. wow. thank you so much for that.

As for all that has been said, I guess I have now a clearer idea about what to do, it will be just practice from now on, so that's fine. Still the mention below it is something I would like to ask a bit of clarification about, as I am pretty sure I am misunderstanding it

does that means I can use two core teams at the same time, or as I guess, I will have to declare first the jaguar core team at first turn, then after having move it up to the middle field, reset the fireteam and create a new core one, based on the alguaciles and the mobile brigada and the rest of the troups, having the chance of forming an haris with part of the jaguars ?

As well, something I was wondering, how does iwildcard models count when added as the +1 model to a Fireteam ? ex Lupe being the 4th component in an Haris ( Senor Massacre and two Jaguars ), or the Dak added as the 6th component of an Alguacil Core Fireteam ? does those will be able to use the FT bonuses only after one of the other members will be a lost, as I am thinking ? If that the case what about the order declaration ?

You can only have 1 Fireteam core at a time. So you have to cancel the first (you can do this voluntarily), then form the second. At that point the Jags no longer are a Fireteam so are eligible to form a Haris.

It's not something you'll want to do all the time, but in say Supplies or a Zone Control mission it's a way to dominate the centre without exposing a lot of your list to harm.

Wildcards replace a trooper in the Fireteam. So a Massacre Haris of Massacre (Haris) + Jag + Lupe is a legal 3 trooper Haris.

that answer my doubts, indeed. Consider all of it, that will be the list I will keep trying from now on. I still need to get the eye for when it could be useful to re-shuffle the fireteams or what it could be better to do first, still I start go get an overall idea around the way the list could play.

It might be a straight forward kind of list, still it takes to me some time to digest everything, and start to bring something useful on the table
