When weapon sprues were included in the ITS packs, literally no one pick that as prize and we ended with tons and tons of multiple faction weapons we had to threw to the garbage...

Masochists who try to convert metal miniatures are an increasingly small slice of player base; 3d prints from Monstrous Makings are a great solution, thankfully CB are okay with them and didnt C&D

    Here I come, as summoned!

Both lists were last updated sometime around the start of 2020 due to health-related reasons. I might get around to adding the recent months, possibly making an entirely new N4-compliant version of the availability list because of Defiance and so many new units/profiles. But no guarantees.

Heh. I grabbed a bunch of the blisters of 2 weapon sprues back in the day at a couple of con tourneys (all the main prizes had been given out already and they were in the leftover "unclaimed" pile. The TOs said any of us could rummage through the pile and if we saw something we wanted - to grab it.). I cut my gaming model teeth on metal figures, so doing weapon swaps for infinity was easy enough.

I took your sheet and updated it for myself. It's up to date until March this year. Could put it up somewhere if someone's interested.

I'd appreciate a link or PM so I can verify mine once I get around to updating.

I wonder if this is true. It may be. But also, I know it always seems this way during times after a lot of new profiles and sectorials have been released. It felt like this for years after original HS, and again after Paradiso and N3.

So while it wouldn't surprise me if the problem is a little worse now due to the sheer number of armies, it also wouldn't surprise me to learn that its the same kind of hump we've seen over and over again for a decade.

Uh huh. When I was running tournaments no one was ever interested in the weapon sprues. I always had a big box of leftovers that I offered to absolutely anyone (weapon sprues, posters, badges, charms, silhouettes) and mostly no one cared. After 3 years I had about 30 weapon sprues, and eventually one guy took them all for a scenery project.

Were the sprues so you could actually have miniatures armed with what was on the list?

They were the same sprues of 3 weapons as come with the Spec-Ops, so they varied by faction.

Ariadna had Chain Rifle, HMG, and Sniper, PanO had Multi Rifle, HMG, and Spitfire, Aleph had BSG, Spitfire and MSR IIRC.

You can see them all on https://human-sphere.com/index.php?title=Main_Factions listed alongside each faction's Spec-Op (though the PanO image mislabels the MR as an MSR)

It may work for plastic "easy to transform" figures, but not for infinity models.

Conversions with weapons work for most of the infinity models too. You mustn't be afraid to cut metal, have patience and be careful and you can cut most weapons from the hand that holds them and then switch them. It needs some filing and in some cases pinning but weaponsswaps are easy.
I have done a lot of those.
Built myself a double smg hulang for example, or a boarding shotgun and hacker daofei, all different ye Mao loadouts on basis of tiger soilders, Combi guilang, multimarksmanhsien and so on.

    good for you.

I dont have the skills or the tools to convert. My only conversion is the old Grenade launcher caledonian Volunteer to HMG, asking a friend.

    "Easy to transform" is relative.
Converting is a skill set. When you have the skills and the tools to do it, it's not magic. It's just something you can do. It's mostly knowing where to cut and which tool(s) to use to get that end. Anyone can learn them.

When for the most part, there weren't plastic models for what you wanted, and to get that result you wanted with a metal figure, you HAD to learn how to do it.
On the plus side, those skills readily port over to converting plastics, only the material is softer and the bonding agents are different. It's converting on "easy mode". The only thing easier is paying someone else to do it for you.

Meh, meanwhile others were looking for them and would pay at least the stamps to get them, for conversions or scenery. IOW, there is people interested, but not in your near circle.

real talk? it's for the most part probably not true. or at least not so cut and dry. there's a pretty clear release cycle for the code one products, so we know now it's probably gonna be Op Crimson Stone (Corregidor v. Kosmoflot), Beyond Crimson Stone, Dire Foes Gamma, Action Packs, Support Packs, Remotes, Alpha Booster, Beta Booster, and a hero blister. ymmv if these sectorials aren't your jam, but we can expect some resculpts for minis that need it (like Daks and Clockmakers and the Cateran), plus the release of several profiles without sculpts. Smarter people than me have speculated, but it seems pretty reasonable that all the previewed Kosmoflot will drop as well as Sombras and Evaders. also, someone joked that it would be funny if Ariadna's hacker profiles were all locked in bundle releases, so I now expect a REM racer sculpt to drop too. Olga Stolyarova? Noor Zoubi? can't wait to find out. so by my count, that's at least 38 new sculpts. based on PanO/YJ boosters, we can expect repacks of a few modern sculpts for each, which will reduce SKUs and shelf space and help retailers and distributors figure out what they want to stock. probably other repacks on the horizon too, like Fraacta in the same vein as Rajiks and Bashi.

in the fall, we'll get another KS which will have final renders and probably even painted up TAG sculpts. we also know they need to support some Aristeia! sculpts, sounds like Wild Bill and Parvati, and maybe a couple others (Lei Gong??) for characters that are plastic only, which I would not be surprised also became Infinity cross overs. Then, you have all the Defiance expansion sculpts, so alts for Cho, Raoul, another Fat Yuan Yuan, Saladin 3, Kitsune, Uxia, Jaan Staar (actually just new), Kendrat (actually just new), Gromoz, another Hawkwood, and more O-12 profiles which hopefully aren't forever locked behind the boxed game. for the two new sculpts, maybe we see their main release alts soonish, like they did for the Kunai and Liang Kai (but maybe not).

since they're finishing up O-12, Shas, PanO, YJ, and kicking up space Ariadna and Nomads into high gear, that leaves Haqq, ALEPH, the rest of Ariadna, Morats, Onyx, and Tohaa in the cold. I would guess they'd try and give them some bridge releases--Wallace resculpt? a Zerat? some NA2 flexible units, especially for White Company or maybe another dire foes (Spiral v. WC)? who knows. but there's a lot we already know that support new/rereleased armies as well as those still on the bench--Karakuri, new Dragon Lady, fem Mukhtar, Shaolin nunchuks, Vostok REM, Varangian guard, Trinitarians, Teutons (the last two to round out MO Action Pack support). also, they're dropping at least one new novel, probably sculpts for characters from that novel, maybe another setting book, and lord knows what else. in between all that, maybe they'll find some room to release something the fans are clamoring for, like a new Moran, and probably at least one thing that will be a legit head scratcher, like a Black Friday Fat Yuan Yuan.

probably, if you're still reading this post, you're screaming "but i already know those things are coming and it doesn't explain why there isn't another Shang Ji." i'm not trying to pass of a word vomit of public info as genius insight. hopefully, though, seeing these things laid out shows that the release year is actually pretty tightly managed with a definable logic. seems like their release cycle can be boiled down to: C1 starter armies for unreleased factions, an Action Pack for a sectorial release/revamp, a Kickstarter, some book stuff, reduce SKUs through repacks and retirements where possible, and then finishing the release cycle for everything they introduced the year before. since they're probably planning at least two years in advance, they give the artists the work they have to complete, and then let the artists themselves decide what interests them after that, within reason. sometimes that's responding to fan demands. sometimes, it's inside jokes because it seems like they want to be a fun place to work for. somewhere in there, both unit selection in ITS lists as well as individual sales are helping to guide their decisions. it sucks when the thing you want isn't CB's priority, but i don't think that's the same thing as them not having any plan at all. probably, this cycle will only last for a couple more years until they have all the C1 armies they are planning for, and then, i bet, they'll really start digging into those old profiles without modern (or any) sculpts.

but what do i know? i just found out that you can buy monstrous making weapons without having to print them, like five minutes ago, so i'm probably talking out of my butt.

In autum, with the Crimson Stone Starter Set, the C1 cyclus will be repeated. Thats good so far, because CJC and KF will get some base troops of their new units. But after that .... ? Lucky that the EVAs seems to lack a very unwanted layout, but I guess AP Spitfire and engineer variants are highly recomanded. I hope we see new Moran in the main box. Maybe Vostock in the beyond box. Maybe no EVA because they plan a box.

Enought time to get some Kaldstrom stuff out ;-) And I still wonder when (or if) we get a Defiance-Team box :-)

With Crimson Stone we'll only have two C1 factions on the go instead of 4 which opens up a lot more release slots for N4.

That was the point though. while some people clearly wanted them, there wasn't actually enough demand to make them worthwhile as a product.

Tournament players do not seem to be interested. It is more a modellers thing.
