So this was thought up with a copy of the old Caledorian starter box as well as the new Caledorian starter box as a base. the SAS models are the primary reason Caledorian Sectorial appeals to me and will be swapping Uxia models depending on need. uses the Wallace wulver haris as a mobile murder squad advancing behind smoke. the volunteer squad seems fairly standard to me though a lot of people don't rate the rifles as worth much more than orders (are medikits specialists like covert action uxia?). they setup support aro firelanes and hide behind smoke using the grey. SAS do SAS stuff. http://army.infinitythegame.com/ind...ZyTvoC+mA6LvLAclFSsQrAakkxcWnmyVmR0Snx+kFBQA= (not sure how everyone links their army builds all pretty style -_-)
Paramedics are indeed specialists, but if you need specialists, 3 is almost never enough, and if you drop one of them to a regular rifle you'll have enough points to drop a warcor (who's regular thanks to Wallace) into group 1. Use the grey and 4 volunteers as a fireteam and the HMG will be a death hose. You can also drop all your volunteers to chain rifles, but at that point you start to question your sanity, or at least start wondering if you should be using 45th highlanders instead...
This is purely my opinion, but I'd suggest; You need more long-range guns, as one HMG doesn't seem enough to me. For example throw in 1+ Caterans, (who're still regular thanks to Wallace). I try not to put Wallace in a Fireteam, as it loses out on his 'free' Co-ordinated Order per turn from his Lt Order. He doesn't tend to like the Wulver Haris either, as it's an aggressive Fireteam, but you can't afford for Wallace to die; plus, he stops them from being stealthy! As cazboab says, 3 specialists aren't enough, as Caledonia's tend to be fragile; try dropping the 2 SAS BSGs down to Forward Observers, and you'll also have enough points left for that Warcor. You can also put them on suppression fire for even more defence. I appreciate that you're trying to use the starter sets as-is, but they tend to be fairly limiting so you may want to try some of them as proxies.
Im still building my army, but I currently have over 300 points of CHA to work with. Its still missing some pieces, but this is what I currently have. after taking everyone's advice into consideration I came up with this. I want flexibility with my core link and I want to keep my sas bodies maxed because I like the models. weaknesses? Im far from an expert, but why not include Wallace in your core link? Surely it would be better protection for him than running around alone in Group 1.
well I had initially thought linking wally was the best but it was mentioned above that you lose out on his LT order when you do that. I think running him "with" the core link should be as safe as long as their positioning covers the flanks. I had wanted to make sure my order pools allowed my S.A.S. plenty of opportunities to take out threats and do objectives as needed
Not bad. Too many SAS maybe, but ok. The highlander grey is in the Volunteers fireteam? In that case, you have 6 man for a 5 man fireteam. Forget about light grenade launchers. They are useless. Drop them to chain+shotgun And i miss some impetuous troops, like McMurrough or Galwegians what about that? Am always a bit undecided on the light grenade launcher. If I have SWC & points I tend to include one just to force my opponent to avoid grouping their models; you never know if you get that one ARO where you can catch someone else in the blast, and with fireteam bonuses it becomes even more likely you'll hit. I always take 'spare' volunteers for my links as at least one always dies, (usually the Grey!), so it's good to have extra to bring the fireteam back up to 5; and if you're luckier/better than me then they just join your cheerleading back-line. Have recently been running McMurrough with 3-5 Galwegians in the same combat group as "bodyguards"; they help to clear the way, throw smoke, receive AROs, etc, and then join him for a cheap-and-brutal co-ordinated CC attack.
