Cutters is ~90 Jotums is ~90 You can't have more than 11 orders for Avatar right now. The beast was hidden in three aspects of this model: - supreme firepower - supreme LT - supreme order efficiency I played list with 18 orders + impetus. Flexibility of spending those, and option to swap units between groups all due to strategos lvl2. Avatar is still more than 30% of your points and lost like 50% of power. But it's a wishlist topic! I wish for: Putting Avatar's profile in the old glory Some amazing revamp of Onyx I played enough with CA God in N4, so high hopes for the latter
Ain't no human TAGs with Mim-6 and a large teardrop ;). The Cutter's 95 points, and it doesn't give you tacaware either, nor is it a WIP 17 lieutenant with mnemonica. The problem point is the Marut imo - my knee jerk would be too call the current Marut too cheap, but then I wasn't playing for most of N4 and I don't have good instincts on how much a TAG should cost these days. Marut gets hurt by the fact that you can only pull off smoke trick with it in vAleph, and vAleph isn't great this edition.
I feel that most of our discussions about wanting something to improve fail to take the full context into account. Bottom line is that Avatar is still ARM/BTS 9 STR 3 Mim-6 TAG that's immune to Possession, making it any more powerful would make it really hard to stop and consequently not really fun to face. It could be a bit cheaper, but even now fielding it with a battery of six basic order monkeys costs 164 pts, which leaves quite a bit of space for support and secondary assault units. Loss of those two orders weakens it but does not break it.
The one thing that I focus on at the moment is the Rodoks as there's no jobber profile. Every profile is something special either in gear or skills. I think the Strategic Deployment profile could easily be replaced with a bog-standard Boarding Shotgun with +1B. When models can move 16" in one Order there's no need for Strategic Deployment.
And with the weakening of Fire Teams, Mimetism-6 and BS 15 is really strong. People probably should give the Cutter and Avatar a spin prior to writing them off.

The German podcast Cerberus Nachrichten Netzwerk has done a long analysis of the vanilla Combined Army and its sub-factions Morat, Shasvastii and Onyx, in the second half it focuses on the Morat with a list proposal. CNN Counterintelligence - Folge 06 - N5 Deep Dive für Combined Army Hello! My name is Christoph and I love talking about Infinity! Today I've got Sven (chroma.mk) as my guest and we're talking together about the new N5 features - a bit in general, but mostly about the changes and how they affect the combined army. Sven's combined army list for supplies can be found here : maf generic v1 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Open in Infinity Army https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seVjxMHikC0
My wishlist for CA is that they get worse so I can play against them with my USARF and not lose instantly. Spoiler
For information, on the dark net Koni made this statement about Nourkias, so the problem should be solved sooner rather than later. Post: https://discord.com/channels/118301609146056709/118301609146056709/1336362749588148299
About Shasvastii, I've been thinking about them and they seem like glass cannons who forgot the cannon at home. For their fragility, they should be able to hit hard and there are only a few profiles that can do that without also being decently durable. The Speculo I find over-costed for the current rules. MA2 used to be quite good, and with the revamp of MA, MA2 is really so and so. Impersonation used to be a whole lot better as well. The Fiday feels adequately priced and is objectively a whole lot better than the Speculo since it has MA3 which is rather good for what it's supposed to do. I've been thinking and I've reached something that could be a possible solution where they get a bit of cannon to go with the glass. Making them cheaper is IMO a no-go. GW did this with the Adeptus Mechanicum faction, instead of, giving them rules and that made the army into a horde army where it formerly had been a finesse army that was the glass cannon. It was the same with Drukhari until GW gave them better rules. Horde also means nothing in Infinity when the model cap is 15, you'd just end up with 13 model meh models supporting three good ones. Skill Ambush When attacking with a Surprise modifier or out of LoF of the target the model gains Ambush for that Order only. When affected by Ambush the model gains +1 SD for any kind of Attack including quantronic attacks. Something like that could be given to the models that need a bit of extra oomph as it's usually the usual suspects with backup and that's IMO, a boring way to play and sideline all the other models to being effectively cheerleaders as they lack the ability to punch up. This would make them able to hit harder without doing anything about them being fragile, more glass cannon than glass without the cannon. My first version had it as Ambush (-) where the model gained something when they triggered Ambush, for example, a cheap unit would get Ambush (Shock) and I steered away from that since I felt it would create too many nested rules.
