I've been out of Infinity for a while for about 10 months (aka the age of my firstborn son), and coming back to this, i'm excited to paint some bolts now. They've been languishing in my bits box for the longest time, because with limited time (even in my pre-parenthood lifestyle) I could only find time to paint models that have a game function I care for, and now I have a nice justification.
It's the RPG Core book which has the timeline and history. That alone is worth the price of admission, but I'd argue the chapter on the culture of the Human Sphere and the Faction chapters are the real heart of the material. Hell, the chapter on Paradiso alone is worthwhile for anyone who's into the wargame! . You know what makes a GREAT Bipandra proxy? Just saying...
I actually really like both models. But someone was complaining earlier about the Bipandra model, and the Bolt Paramedic is just too perfect as a proxy.
I think this layout is the first time I’ve ever considered the Aquila with multi rifle. I really wish they’d allowed the hmg to be in a haris though. It will be nice to use the model at least. I armed swapped the multi rifle orc and Aquila hmg to get an updated orc sculpt and the Aquila actually looks really good with the rifle. I really like the potential of the haris bolt+the khd bolt+any number of options. The mix of drop bears and e/maulers is amazing. Add a good gunfighter to it, and wow.
As another interesting option in the Bolt Fireteam (Core or Haris), I'm looking at he Black Friar too. Making him a Wildcard opens up some interesting options there for team work.
ORC+Bipandra+Black Friar could be interesting I think the black friar will feel nicely at home in a Fusilier team. He fits very nicely with Order Sergeants, so Fusiliers will be the same thing just cheaper
A Black Friar in a 5-trooper Fusilier team will certainly be a nasty barrier to easily sniping out a Fusilier Lt.
