I also got two boxes in the hopes of landing some Combined Army related minis (particularly Victor Messer and the Krakot). Unfortunately I got neither but did manage to gain the Jotum and Toni... ...obviously this means I'm now looking at starting an MO army and a Svalarheima WinterFor army, which is a terrible shame! The rest of the stuff I'll either hand out to newer members of our gaming group or throw in as prizes for the next tournament/league that gets run from my FLGS
Yeah. I was pretty happy in all honesty. My wallet (and most likely my wife) won't be once I start expanding into the MO and WinterFor sectorials though!!
They've literally taken away the only surefire way to get limited edition miniatures. Stop defending loot boxes.
Umm… no? Lol. Everyone here seems happy with what they got in a limited release for the most part. There was no other surefire way of getting the older miniatures anyway aside from hoping they turn up on eBay. I’m only defending it in the sense that it looks to be a one off that allowed people to potentially get what they wanted. If it happens more often I’ll be less likely to get it, I’ll support CB by buying something else of theirs. Damn. That’s a good get. Others here seem quite envious, You should hit vegas and clean out the casinos with luck like that! Anyone else get anything really cool? I’m seeing a few Wild Bills and Parvati’s here, guess there were a lot of them left.
Of course! Damn I didn’t think of that. I shall consign myself to a shameful facepalm on my own account.
A clever solution to clear out/make available some old sought after stock at the tail end of a once-in-a-generation/black swan event takes some doing. As so many have said, if it becomes a pattern there’s reason to be concerned. If it’s a one off or “once every five or more ITS seasons” it’s perfectly fine.
Exactly. If it’s once in a blue moon it’s fine but more often would be an issue. Though I wouldn’t mind if CB were to offer a pay to cast option for older miniatures… though I hate GW doing this all the time it does prove useful in collecting older out of production models.
For me that box was no brainer. My rage book go MIA after i borrow it for my friends kid. And I wgot rought last few weeks. And buying toys always make me happy. :) Wgot Jotum fella. Model is cool. But I don't need more new factions. So if somebody in UK have Parvati and Victor Messer. Hit me up. Ow about Wayland games. I hate this shop with passion. So every time if I have occasion I say don't buy from them. To many good shops around. And like others if this boxes will show once per fev years, it is cool fun.
Got mine in!, 3 Aida Swansons, 1 Krakot Renegade, 1 Cube Jaegar, 1 Scar Face. Nothing too crazy but perfect prizes for grow leagues. Already gave out 3 Classifed decks to the locals in my area, and gave out 2 of the mangas to a couple of people who demo'd the game to give them some lore hoping to rope them in. Pretty happy with what I got but would have loved to get one of the old LEs I missed. Overall I like the idea and the execution of this. If they did do this in 4-5 years I would buy in again for prizes to give to people but I agree if this was a yearly thing I would not buy in.
Bought of them just for fun. I was pretty sure to gain something new, as I only had the Ye Mao and Wild Bill as ITS exclusive. So.. why not? I found the Ye Mao and Wild Bill :|
And this is exactly why this is a dumb, customer unfriendly idea. They could've simply said "we've got so many Jotums, so many Wild Bills, etc", sell them piecemeal, add the chaff where it makes sense, done.
Suerte negra la tuya… thanks for taking one for the team! Any local/internet trades/swaps out there for you?
I have to point out that beyond the little artwork card everything is recyclable to base material so they do not need necessarily to "clear out" stock, maybe it is done for another reason. @Lareon that is bad luck indeed.
Yeah... no, sorry not sorry but I will never defend loot boxes. If I want something, I expect to buy it, even if for a limited time. I cannot fathom why you would be okay at hurling money at someone, only to hope they will give you something you actually like or want.
That’s some harsh luck. The wild bill should sell quickly on eBay though for a decent amount or perhaps someone here would like to trade with you? No art cards @psychoticstorm, which was a shame. I’d have liked to see some of the older art cards for the sake of nostalgia but I guess they’re long gone, lol. If CB do this again in ten years or so it could be interesting considering what may come out in ITS packs in that time but I think I’d prefer a made to order service for older miniatures if at all possible.
