Don't other companies sell "random contents" at lower price than the contents would normally be? Warlord Games did, ~50% off. So ITS price up or down? ITS 13 was 39.95 euros.
I agree. I wish they would stop coming out with profiles if they don't plan on coming out with them soon after. It's not just those two as well. There's also Nadhir and Shujae. Even more of an insult since Haqq had all of 4 new figures in the last two years. Actually I think Saladin makes it 5. And then they came out with the MO who had little immediate need to have an overhaul. Edit: see below. I forgot Kaplans and Wild Bill.
Agreed. Also, Whilst I love new sculpts of minis, even new profile sculpts I would prefer a relatively weapons agnostic sculpt so I could use it as any profile.
Oh I should mention they did get Wild Bill. Who is available to Vanilla, QK, and RTF. New figures 2021: Saladin, Mukthar hacker, Wild Bill. New figures 2020: Namur Spitfire, Mukthar doctor, ok something else Kaplans (available to Vanilla and QK.) Even adding Kaplans, that's still pretty poor.
As a Haqq player, I don't really see the issue. I'm very happy with my Nadhir conversion (Tuareg body, Daylami panzerfaust arms.) I don't like the Nadhir concept art at all (way too much armor, just like Fidays, Farzans, Barids, Ragiks, all of which I proxy for that reason even though they have sculpts), so have no particular care if/when a model comes out. I'm also quite happy with my stripped-down-gecko as a Shakush. Yara is worst of all, the concept art just doesn't remotely fit the Haqq aesthetic and she'll be mismatched with the whole rest of the force. I'll stick with my Muyib-based conversion, thanks. We'll get our turn, and it'll be great, but in the meantime I'm happier getting one utterly fantastic Saladin model than 10 mediocre models for things I'm already proxying. It feels like people will never be happy. For years, the complaint was no Shang Ji. Then they finally came out with an amazing Shang Ji box that was well worth the wait, and y'all were happy for like 10 minutes. Now you're complaining on behalf of Haqq.
Fuck loot boxes, with a vengeance. Horrible practice. It's one thing when a company is dumping random leftover minis and bits for 25% of the price in a "loot box" and another when a premium price TOURNAMENT REWARD box contains randomized items of doubtful value.
Damn it. This is so true. I would be one of those complaining! But I’m British and we invented complaining. I do believe it’s seen as a British right. Now excuse me while I go put on some tea and grab some biscuits and I will then explain to you just why I’m unhappy with my new military order stuff… Seriously though, I would be happy with any new mini that comes out as I have Pokémon syndrome and must have them all. I think it’s just that some minis profiles have seemingly never gotten a release and that’s mostly why people would rather see them than something potentially new. I would like more new minis to be relatively weapon agnostic but I understand the needs of rule of cool over this. But I digress. Can I ask how difficult it was to do your nadhir conversion? It sounds quite cool but some arm swaps can require work. (When new minis are released I give you my solemn oath as a British miniature collector and Wargamer that I will, absolutely WILL, complain and this will be especially true if the mini I want most comes out first.).
I need that shaolin lady in my life. Even better than the recent male sculpt. Edit: And I just saw that Juan remake. CB absolutely hit the nail on the head there.
Really easy actually, the arms just fit right on there. There was a small gap that needed filling with greenstuff, leaving the shoulders very slightly too broad, but not enough to be noticeable IMO. The main downside is that the Daylami is only available in the HB starter, so unless you already want the other minis in the box, it's a lot of money for two arms and a panzerfaust.
Oh nice! Thanks for letting me know. Some arms go on with little fuss and some are a nightmare to get to fit. It’s good to know these go on so well. I’ll likely ask shaekonnit if he has them. As you say, it’s a lot of cash for some arms and a panzerfaust! Thanks!
Aren't you mixing up Shujae and Nadhir? AFAIK we haven't seen Nadhir's concept art. And about minis not fitting Haqq style - IMO most of the new ones don't. Namurrs and Mukhtars look closer to Nomads. Yet I bought both Namurrs, because what could I buy, if we almost don't get new sculpts? ;) And I got Mukhtar Hacker, because she looks cool. Still I had problem with what to buy for my prize in our League - got almost everything from Haqq and need something new. Not another (worse) Saladin or Kaplans. Need Shakush. Ending the offtopic - I'm not sure what to think about the surprise box. Some older limited models were nice, especially TAGs, and I know one player who would do much to get the limited Krakot, but I have to see the prize... Don't like that Outrage will be there. PozdRawiam / Greetings
Looks about on par if dollar prices are to be believed. And while similar, I would posit that since these aren’t any random mini, but rather either a pair of prior ITS minis or an ITS narrative TAG, it’s a different case. Putting more of limited minis that often go for a significant markup on the second hand market is a good argument for the price point they’re at. Granted, we don’t know the exact probability, but getting an ITS Guijia for $48 (the price Warsenal is quoting for Blast from the Past) is nothing to sneeze at. And that doesn’t touch on the remaining contents of the box.
It was one of those optical illusion things. Like Fata Morgana. Same thing happened for the new acontecimento box, it only appeared to exist.
Generally the whole season, so roughly September to September. They've done the Narrative Event ITS packs that include a limited edition TAG variant, these are generally released towards the end of a season and are not available for as long.
I how wonder how much CB saw people buying the tournament boxes for the models, and then selling/giving away everything else. As someone who bought Stakeout for myself to keep, my purchase didn't do CB any favors and just used up a tournament code. It seems like CB's got enough tournament models built up to make a decent random selection, and random selection may be a big enough disincentive for personal buying so that the packs get bought for actual tournament prizes.
