After a couple games of Bakunin, I'm trying to figure out which of the 6pts. Morlocks is the "best" choice (I know that's a stupid way to put it)...

When having a group 2 that's mostly dedicated to a bunch of morlocks to charge up and cause chaos, etc. Which is the best choice? Do you go with the Assault pistol/AP CC for the close in spray-n-pray? Do you go with the E/M CC to try and brick big boys? Split the difference and use DA because mo'-saves-mo'-betta? I've messed with mixing and matching (two Assault pistols, two E/M CC) but there's some mental headspace that uses up and of course the wrong one is always in the wrong place (Assault pistol winds up facing off with HI, while the E/M winds up in CC with a warband...)

    Thoughts?

I dont know the answer either, but unless you need to anti-material trait of DA, the E/M CC is just better than DA. E/M CC weapons combine effects with normal ammo, so its two rolls at half BTS, and each failed save causes a wound AND E/M effects as applicable.

For context, the list I'm looking at has strong hacking presence with two Stigmatons and a Rounder hacker... so wondering if morlocks should focus on smaller fish and Assault pistol would be best choice in that case...

What is their "roll" in your force? Are they just smoke chuckers or going for assault? Corner guards? I would say the E/M CCW is the best all around. But on missions that require anti-material, then the DA. If in a fireteam to support a Taskmaster, I'd say an assault pistol due to the Burst 5. But would go to DA for specific missions.

I think you are best mixing them in those two teams of 1 ChainRifle Assault Pistols and 1 EM Morlocks. Assault Pistols add versatility and EM weapons are super dangerous. CB did a great job separating those profiles as they both are useful.

I would only use the DA profile for missions where you need anti-material.

I'd pay the 2Pts and upgrade to (or proxy as) Zellen. You are get DA CCW, but with also have B2, Dam 14, Pistol. You can also Berserk as an option. You still toss smoke on PH13. You have a better chance of a good metachem result.

To be honest, I would not pay the 2 points to change them, I would much prefer to have those 2 points spend in everything else.

I've been running 2 Morlock (Assault Pistols) and 1 Zellenkrieger to great results.

Between reroll on metachem and berserk, it's very easy to way overperform. I don't think there is much else that can get as much of an impactful upgrade for 2 points.

Yeah, if you have 2 pts. left over it's a great upgrade
If you have 1 pt. left, get another pupnik :)

For me it very much depends on the mission. If you have anything in the mission line-up that needs anti-material then DA Morlocks are very handy to have. With a few orders they can get forward and achieve important mission objectives. In theory, the Zellenkrieger can occupy this space if you can spare 2pts but I often cannot.

Otherwise, I tend to err towards the assault pistol/AP CC over the E/M CC as it provides for a very effective active turn fork into a lot of targets. It's a great turn 2 counter attack piece and can very readily get into position with it's impetuous order. The E/M will see more valuable targets if you expect an opponent will run TAGs/HI however a smart opponent won't give you an easy opening into them (or ensure the morlock dies).
